Self portrait
Hello everyone! I hope you're all finding a way to be creative today! I started this last night (and stayed up way too late working on it) and it's the first self portrait that I've ever made. It's not finished but I am very happy with it so far. If anyone has made one of themselves, whether realism or abstract, please post below. I would love to see them. If you've never made one, give it a try! Who knows you better than you?

Last year I did one in pencil, the year before I did this one in oil. Personally, I love the oil version because I'ma great colour fan
Challenge! Show Up & Create
Most artists don’t fail because of talent. They disappear. So let’s fix that. New challenge: Show Up & Create → 3x per week→ for 30 days→ post whatever you made (finished or messy) Rules: - No perfection - No overthinking - Just proof you showed up - Miss a day? Don’t quit. Just continue. This is about becoming someone who creates. Not someone who waits. I’m in too. Who’s joining?

@Joleen Jenkin thankyou very much. People were very kind and complimentary about the stall and I sold a few small pieces . One person asked about a course to learn to cyanotype, so a good day 😊. We took a picnic so that we didn't blow our profits on refreshments 🤣

Now that Saturdays sale is over , and most of the stuff has been put away again until next time, I found time to paint along with Sennelier . It's a weekly free online opportunity to recreate an image that they supply, it's in both french and English, and of course promotes their beautiful products ( that I don't have, save a few soft pastels and oil sticks ) I highly recommend trying it. There is also the chance of winning something. I will try and find the proper link . This is a watercolour of lemons that I did yesterday .
Simply me
Hello. I thought I should introduce myself . I'm self taught ( unless you include "O"level art a gazillion years ago, not at all merited because i spent more time in the store cupboard ,pilfering supplies with potential to dye my hair exciting colours, than actually studying art ) I paint for pleasure but would love to sell some , then I can paint some more 🙂 I particularly love painting in oil with a knife. I've been working with cyanotype printing for a few years now . Last year I learned how to make lampshades, a short one day course in the UK, and then a four day course here in France at the local chambre de metiers. I think they are a wonderful way to expose the true beauty of cyanotype. I still have a lot to learn, but I sold my first cyanotype lantern this year and I hope to repeat that happy feeling very soon . I wear my "happy hat " in the space that I work in because its very chilly in there during the winter, and I like the old phrase and ideology that " If you want to get ahead , get a hat "

@Jenny Warden Thankyou . My 'o ' level was in 1981, i truly dont remember being taught any art or discussion of artists or artworks. For cyanotype, treat yourself to a kit , usually around 20£. It really is great fun.
Pricing!? How much do you ask? 💰
Tell me about your art! 🎨 What do you charge, and for what size? Are you working in oils or acrylics? On paper or canvas? And have you already made some sales? Let’s learn from each other 💪🏼

I have only ever sold small pieces in oil and for a pittance which covered just the cost of materials because i never have the guts to ask for more. Its a very interesting subject to me because I'm not qualified at all , i just really enjoy painting .

I'm a mostly self taught artist. I paint in oils for their boldness, and I create with cyanotype processes to capture the delicate things . I'm in🇨🇵
