Not my community, our community ❤️🤝
Hey Responsibly Messy Artists 🎨 I want to talk to you from the heart for a second. I built this space for us — and I pay for it every month so you don't have to. That part I'm happy to do. But here's the thing: I can't make this a community on my own. No one can. A community only comes alive when people show up for each other. I get it — it can feel easier to watch from the sidelines at first. That's okay for a little while. But at some point, I'm asking you to take a breath and jump in. Share something. Comment on someone's work. Introduce yourself. Ask a question. Cheer someone on. That's all it takes. Those small moments are what make a place feel warm and welcoming — for you, and for everyone who comes after you. This place has so much potential. I can feel it. But it needs all of us. So please — don't just watch. Participate. Make this the community we all wish we'd had. Grow together. Stronger together. 🤝 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ If you’d like to support this free community, you can do it here: https://ko-fi.com/responsiblymessyart No pressure. You guys inspire me!
So this happened yesterday and im so proud of myself… At the rehabilitation centre they made me a nifty little tool to help me hold my brushes. Most of it will be covered by my insurance but i had to pay a whopping 1,40 euros out of pocket ;-). I was reaching for my wallet when my occupational therapist suggested writing an official receipt since it might become ‘a professional expense” which means it is tax deductible. I felt a chuckle and was ready to make a derogatory remark about my art, as im used to do, but then i thought of this group. I remembered some of you saying you started calling yourself artist and choosing to believe in your craft etc. And it changed something. I suddenly found myself thinking: yes, it is a small amount but that doesnt make it right to talk badly about my art… there really is no need to do so… So, i swallowed my initial response and accepted the receipt with all the grace and confidence i could muster. i might frame it…

Gobsmacked!
Boosted by my new-found confidence, I recently approached a local Artisan Gallery to see if they would sell my work. I got a reply today, and I'm utterly gobsmacked to say they will!!!! They loved the work and I'm visiting in the morning to hand over 4 framed pieces for them to display. I can't believe it. I don't even care if they don't sell - just having them visible will be something I've dreamed of for ages. Mind blown......
