Finish that Book!
Have you started a novel or a memoir and it’s just lingering, you don’t know what to do with it? Or have you finished a first draft and are ready to do a close edit and send it out? Needing help? Well, creativity thrives in community, right? And I host a small intimate cohort of writers and creators on Skool. Here’s what a couple of members wrote recently in the chat there. KIM “Thanks, Sarah! Helpful comments. That will speed the revision a lot to know where to focus, where to trim. I tend to leave out important things--on the first draft, at least!” TREY “The concept of seasons and their relationship to creativity is something I’ve never thought about before. Upon reflection, fall seems to be when I dig into writing the most. It’ll be interesting to pay attention to this relationship between seasons and creativity.” So I’m writing this today to show you that you can finish your project and on your own terms. Let’s develop and hone your individual voice and style, build characters and landscapes, play with tension and release, add elements and expand your vocabulary (not just the words but the craft and skills), and consider the range of options for structure within novels and hybrid memoirs. In this writing and creativity group, I post questions and assignments to spark your curiousity about what you do and why. They build upon each other or you can drop in and out - which is what most members do. There you go, I hope it helps!

Feeling stuck?
The process of moving a creative project from concept to completion often needs the help of an outsider perspective. Whether you are revising a full length manuscript, short story, structuring a course, or working on how to get your art and words out into the world, let me know. I'm offering a bit of professional mentorship on your current projects. This beta-test offers a quick 'fix' alternative to my comprehensive 1:1 coaching program, brainstorming together ways to get through any creative blocks and carry on with more confidence. Anyway, I wanted to offer this in case it helps you. Cheers!

Why members with great YouTube content get zero Skool members
Most people building a YouTube channel to grow a Skool community focus on the content. The topic, the production, the editing. That part they get right. What they forget is the ask. A viewer will not go looking for your community. They watched your video, they got something useful from it, and they moved on. If you did not tell them where to go next, they are gone. Not because they are not interested. Because you did not give them a reason to take the next step. I see this regularly on Roadblock Calls. Someone has published ten, fifteen, twenty videos. Good videos. The channel is growing slowly but it is growing. And when I ask them how many Skool members have come from YouTube, the answer is almost always the same. A handful at best. When I look at the videos, there is no CTA. Or there is one buried so far into the description that nobody finds it. The content is doing its job. The conversion is not. Adding a CTA does not mean turning every video into a sales pitch. It means saying, clearly and naturally, that there is somewhere to go if the viewer wants to take this further. One sentence at the end of the video. A link in the description. That is it. The viewers who are ready will use it. The ones who are not will ignore it and come back later. If you are building a YouTube channel to grow a Skool community, this is the kind of thing we work on inside The Content Revenue Lab. https://tinyurl.com/TheContentRevenueLab Des Dreckett - The Content Revenue Lab

Yep, same for me. Getting some views, short reels only seem to be seen. No new members though!
Try this to keep your members engaged
It's really not about trying to constantly provide new content to your members. It's about being there for them if they need you. Try this: - Pick a day and put a 'Ask a Question', 'Coffee Break' or some other meeting on the Calendar. - You don't need to prepare anything, just be there in case someone needs guidance. Things may go slow at first, but over time they will pick up and your members will feel more comfortable to hop on and chat. Here's why this works better than building another course: - You can connect with your members and help solve their issues in real-time. - Members feel seen and heard (which is why they stay). - It takes zero prep time for you. Are you doing this in your groups?

I've offered it a few times and no one showed up! So, I sat and worked on the laptop just in case.
