Already done so much
Eye test and gym were done by 9:40. Have finished first week of training for the blueprint. I love the legs press (used for first time today). I have been brave (anxiety etc) and spoken to the staff at the gym who showed me machines and how to work them. I am focussing on getting the exercises right but also being present and noticing everything that my body is feeling. Trip to the doctors this afternoon (I'm walking down and back to get my steps in). Right now I'm going to settle down and do some work for going back next week. Have a good day everyone πŸ’›β€οΈπŸ˜

Today's Office.
In spite of my Mother hovering at my elbow the entire time I was cooking I'd like to start by saying my prep work paid off and my family survived, not even a frustrated word passed my lips πŸ€πŸ˜‚ Then this evening in the spirit of @Jamie Bigg Tip of the Day I decided to forego my Bank Holiday off and join a session with my writing coach...what I didn't realise was that she was bringing Holly Black along...so yeah this is me, flat out like a lizard drinking on my lawn discussing writing high stakes plot shifts with the author of The Bone Witch & The Spiderwick Chronicles...yep...the one that's a film 😳 I said it in my comment this morning, I'll say it again. If you invest in your learning, you invest in your future self. Put some skin in the game and bet on yourself by working with experts. I put my money where my mouth was in September (before I even knew Jamie existed come to think of it πŸ˜…) and in 6 months I've achieved more & at a higher standard than in the entire 2 years since having the idea for my book because I have the right help to do it...with a fantastic push in March from the Epic Bigg 30 crew of course! πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ’ͺ🏼

40 mile road bike ride done πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ
Today’s 40-mile ride was one of those that teaches you more than you expect. I thought I’d prepared well with a carb-heavy lunch, but I didn’t factor in the fact that breakfast was just a protein shake. In hindsight, I definitely should’ve had something more substantial to set me up properly for the day. That said, the ride itself started beautifully. Heading into Derbyshire never disappoints, and the views absolutely delivered. Rolling through to Surprise View, I was treated to stunning panoramas across the valley, looking out over Hope Valley and Hathersage β€” honestly breathtaking. The route carried me through Grindleford, Calver and Baslow before I stopped about 18 miles in at Chatsworth House to refuel. That stop was much needed - yoghurt, banana, flapjack, and even a sausage roll. Feeling recharged, I set off again… but this is where things got tough. I ran out of fluids just as I hit a brutal 2km climb β€” 213m of vertical ascent, two hairpin bends, and every bit as vicious as people say. It was a proper thug of a hill. I gave it everything, but it got the better of me. I had to stop near the top and ended up walking around the bends. Even that felt like a huge effort. At the very top, I found a bench and just sat there, completely spent. For a moment, I felt defeated. Then I checked my route and realised I was only halfway - and the second half was completely unknown. That hit hard. I could feel the emotions bubbling up. But then something shifted. I thought about you guys β€” how you’d be cheering me on β€” and it gave me the push I needed. I took a breath, gave myself a bit of time, and made a call: adapt. I replanned the route home. Picked something more familiar, something manageable β€” just one more climb about 2 miles from home. Honestly, it was the best decision I made all day. That mental and emotional pivot changed everything. I was still out of food and fluids, but I slowed things down, listened to my body, and just kept moving forward. And I made it home.

Calm before the storm
My family are en route after I was informed a few days ago I was hosting Easter (I don't even celebrate Easter πŸ˜…). Negated the stress by getting myself prepared yesterday, even had time for culninary evil genius. Got extra steps in mowing the lawn, treats for everyone made while dancing round the kitchen, as well my usual hour of pole. Today I've gotten my pole session in, got on the hydration early & eaten a healthy brunch so I'm less likely to over indulge on the calorie dense stuff later. Then a bit of moving meditation by way of a bo staff session. Far slower and less dynamic than it should be because knee...and helper, but the calming effect of fluid movement has done it's thing. πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Have a fantastic start to the week gang πŸ’ͺ🏼
