Weight Gain
I’ve gained about 15 pounds in 10 months. I eat approximately 2200-2500 calories, walk 10k-14k steps in a day, have a desk job, eat 150g of protein a day, 25-35g of fiber and mainly a whole food diet. I also strength train 3 times a week for about 45 minutes each. I’m on progesterone, and an every other day 1/2 pump of testosterone cream. My sleep has improved this past year but could also keep getting better. I’ve been managing my stress through meditation, breath work and sauna. I’ve cut high intensity cardio out for now. I’ve also recently been put on thyroid medication as my T3 and T4 have been a bit sluggish. I still can’t lose the weight and I’m losing my muscle definition 😩. What else can I do to get a handle on the fat gain and muscle loss?

@Jody Lindsey all my metabolic markers are doing good. I eat around 2200-2400 calories a day of whole clean food with 150g protein per day. I don’t think a GLP-1 will work for me.

@Tiffany Williams It’s so frustrating. This year has been a challenge. I’m dealing with weird food sensitivities (never have I ever had this before). This past weekend I was dealing with horrible gut extension with a pregnant belly feeling. It was so uncomfortable.

Also reading books helps. Just finished the perimenopause survival guide. Best takeaway is we should all be tracking our systems every day and if we are still menstruating track our cycles. Bring this with you when you go to your doctor.

@Jody Lindsey the perimenopause revolution by DR Mariza Snyder. I also have the new perimenopause by Dr Mary Claire Haver held for when it releases sometime next Spring.

Alcohol and sugar make me feel awful
Need sleep!
Hi everyone, I’m Jamie 49 next month and I am definitely in Peri. I have been having a lot of anxiety lately more than normal and I am looking for some other suggestions. I have tried teas, magnesium, aswaganda and melatonin cause I haven’t been sleeping either. Any suggestions are appreciated.

@Aly Mangeot what happens if you’ve tried all of those suggestions and still wake up at 2a during your luteal phase?

@Aly Mangeot yes. I’m on progesterone and TRT. I am actually scheduled to start with elevate (once lab work is complete) for a 2nd opinion. I have unopposed estrogen and have been dealing with that for awhile now. My current provider had put me on so may supplements (I’m supplemented out 😂). I use an infrared sauna, I meditate and do breathwork as well. It’s honestly very frustrating,
Book recommendation
Good morning everyone! I wanted to share an amazing book from Dr. Mariza Snyder called the Perimenopause Revolution! I’ve been listening to it on my morning walks and it’s been very informative and helpful! Wanted to share to other in this community!
