Doing Podcast Interviews? Watch this video
I made this for @Lee Carlson after one of our Premium Author Lab coaching calls ... but I know that there are a lot of authors doing podcast interviews who aren't getting much momentum from them so this will help! Happy long weekend!

@Sarah Bean Great, thank you! Do they offer the same supports? I have a lot of content from my own podcast and guest appearances that I do very little with...
Do you have your book on your website?
If you have a website and listed your book on it, can you share it here? I want to see how you offer / direct people to buy it. My book is getting ready for pre-launch and pre-orders. I want to learn where should I send them. One link? Multiple links?

https://sagebhobbs.com/book-naked-communication/ I have a button on my homepage as well. My book isn't yet up through D2D, when it is I'll create a UBL for sales through other venues. That will happen in the next month :)
How many books have you sold?
Not trying to put anyone on the spot. Just trying to have a realistic expectation when my book launches. You don't need to be precise with your numbers. A range is fine: less than 100, more than 500, over a million....and how long ago have you launched? Lastly, what advise would you give based on your experience to someone about to launch his first book? Thanks so much.

@John Read Awesome! What are your books? And thank you for your honesty about the ups and downs and being persistent!

When I first published (10 years ago) I sold 1,154 copies. Since I published for the second time in March, 2026 I've sold 55 copies. It's so good to look at the numbers and think about effort/results. I've let book promotion slide way down on my list of business items (because it generates so little of my income) But now I see that it's time to circle back and give it some attention!
What conversation do you hope your book starts?
The best nonfiction books get people thinking, talking, questioning, or seeing something differently. What are people having conversations about after reading your book?

I love this question! My book, Naked Communication, has started conversations about how to have hard conversations, how to be more compassionate with ourselves when learning to communicate better, when to speak up (and when not to bother). The biggest conversation I want it to start is "how do we talk to each other meaningfully and kindly, especially when we don't agree"

@Jennifer Henry beautiful. I want my second book to open up these hard conversations on grief and loss, and lots of moments of connection through our shared stories. I'll check out your book.

For the entire month of May, we’re running a 30-day virtual workshop to help you actually build momentum with your book. Here’s what you’ll get: - Weekly group coaching (with me or Julie Broad) - Direct guidance on what to focus on (so you’re not guessing) - A full platform audit for YOU (Amazon page, social, website, etc.) All you need to do is grab a lifetime license of Author Launch Kit before April 30th. If your book isn’t doing what you hoped yet, this is where that changes. Check out all the details here. We’re excited to work with you on this 🙌 ****Edit: If you already have a lifetime license, yes you can join! Just send me a DM and I'll add you to the list.

What about those of us who already bought it?? But the coaching to use it would be super helpful?
