While in Charleston this past week, I noticed something in two different stores - including Ben Silver - that I'd never seen before yet immediately drew my eye: a seersucker tuxedo (dinner) jacket. The Ben Silver version was in a solid, dark navy, while the M. Dumas version was in a solid black. This got me thinking about the possibilities. I don't have any sort of regular need for a tuxedo, but it would be nice to have one for the rare occasions it could come in handy. And a true, year-round tuxedo made from a breathable fabric? It kind of sounds like a winner. I already have a pair of navy, wool tuxedo trousers (long story) that fit me well. If I were to have made a three-piece, navy seersucker tuxedo suit along with either a dark burgundy or dark green tuxedo jacket - that would give me up to six different tuxedo combinations to wear. So, what do you think? If it wasn't about money or opportunity - would you wear a seersucker tuxedo?
