Booking Function - Incoming Calls - Vapi/Make
I am using the template Brendan created for booking appointments from incoming calls, using Vapi and Make. Prior to integrating Make, I was able to get my bot to ask the caller for their desired time for a meeting. Now that I have added the booking function and connected Make, it no longer asks and just books a time. It always tries to book the date I have in my prompt example (Tuesday at 10am). In my last test, I questioned it about why it automatically booked me without asking me a date and time. It said, "Sorry, that's all the booking system gave me". Then it asked me for a date and time. It cut me off after I said the day and then booked me for the same time on the new day, even though I told it a different time. What could be wrong here? Also, I own a few entities and I like to keep everything separate. So, I have separate email accounts for each entity. Each entity has its own Google Workspace. It would be cool to have the AI Agent book to the appropriate calendar, based on the caller's reason for booking a meeting. What would be the best approach to this? **NoteI do plan to create a bot for each entity, so it will not be an issue for that scenario. However, this bot is replacing my personal voicamail on my cell phone. Lastly, I am on Central Time here in the US. However, I have many clients all over the us. So, for the bookings, I have in my prompt to remind the caller I am on CST, before it asks them what date and time they would like to meet. This caould work, but I have found that many people often struggle manipulating their calendar in their mind, when booking. I feel like it would be better to ask them what time zone they are in, and then have the bot book based on their time zone, while making sure it gets added to the calendar correctly. What would be the best way to make this work? Thanks in advance for your responses!
