@Max Bolotov hi! It's awesome you finally got around to working out the brand feel you want and releasing your single! We expose ourselves when we do this, and linking from here means that you'd like opinions, I think. So, with that in mind, I'll give you this - To me, the tonal balance is off (if you have questions about what I say, let me know and I'll clarify) and the guitar from the beginning to around 4 minutes is too loud for the tonal balance. And around 4 minutes, the electric comes in, and further pushes that tonal balance out. Did you have a reference track you used when working on this? If so, that would definitely help me get an understanding of your mix choices. :) Best wishes for your future in music!

@Max Bolotov Yes! it was fun to listen to! Besides tonal balance, depth is a challenge to master, and generally spacing. You can think of depth in the sense of a loud bass, and a quiet guitar. you can make the guitar sound further back from the listener by rolling off the mid-highs and highs, because, if you think about it, how does a higher frequency instrument sound when it's further away? less bright. what you'll hear most often clearly are low frequencies, and some low mid. think of that loud car that drives by with the music thumpin they almost have to be next to you for you to hear the mids, midhighs, and highs. one of my favorite ways to demonstrate this is the put a bass sound (sine wave) on the low end loudish. then put a synth sound as low as I can, but still able to hear it. that is the start of depth, for me. then adding in more instruments are various loudnesses between the two, to create depth. then doing the instrument roll offs, and eventually reverb. I hope this helps!
Best places to get feedback on cinematic music?
Hey all, I'm working full time but when I have time I'm producing cinematic music. However outside of this community I dont really have friends or other groups of folks that I can bounce tracks off of. All my other friends produce different kinds of music and/or aren't interested in what im doing HA. Anyways, do you guys have a good place for getting feedback on cinematic tracks you're working on by other professionals or folks in similar genre? Thanks so much, also interested in hearing other peoples WIP tracks.

this is what gemini told me about trying to find a place for professional tier feedback for cinematic music - https://gemini.google.com/app/e84dabb2a62f8bf0 I get "feedback" myself by analyzing and comparing what I write to other professionally released cinematic music. Two I love - Hans Zimmer and Laura Karpman.

Izotope Impact compressor. it's great for bringing out the snap for drums, which is a primary focus in the music i work with when I'm mastering (EDM / electronic).

I go by "Hellcat5" on the web. The nickname comes from an old PC game from the 90s called wing commander, created by Chris Roberts. When I learned guitar back when I was a kid, I felt like a part of me could finally express itself. communication in ways that I couldn't with words. Music has been that means to expression since. I can't play the instruments I could before my strokes, and I can't sing anymore. I had stopped writing music altogether for a while, but a friend of mine kept at me to pick it back up again, so I did a few years ago. So, here I am. I want to be able to get my mixing and composition skills to a pro tier, and KNOW it's there without a doubt. Current Demo reel: https://www.youtube.com/@hellcat5music I need someone who's can evaluate my skills to do that, and guide me along to my next step in the process. I am grateful to be here!

Music helps me communicate things that aren't possible to do otherwise. That commuication goes beyond what words can give.
