I now have a coach, and here's what he said about my deadlift
This is my most important rule for deadlifting: No Yanking! So, feel the weight of the bar in your hands, and smoothly increase the amount of pressure you feel in your hands until the bar breaks contact with the ground. If you do this correctly, the bar will lift off the ground silently! That's the goal. Once the plates break contact with the ground, then you can aggressively accelerate the bar all you want. But that first inch off the ground is a show loading process. Moral of the story: Even coaches need coaches.

I ordered mine today!
Even a workout left Unfinished is better than a workout skipped
didn’t eat enough today and had low energy when I went to workout. But what matters is that I showed up. Even we struggle to make it work sometimes, but if you keep making it work your results will come before you know it!

My problem is eating too much and having low energy! Good for you Alexander! We need encouragement to show up regardless!
Overtraining
Today I was dragging. Tired but not sleepy. Hard time concentrating. Diagnosis: overtraining. Not enough recovery time between workouts. Made worse by a busy schedule. I've been doing more than my program has been asking. I've been training 3x/week and pushing my loads. It caught up with me. At 70 years old, recovery is very important, because it takes longer the older you get. For the time being, I think I'm going to back down to 2x/week. So, here is a shapesmith who also need a coach.
What’s keeping you motivated lately?
Hey all! I want to learn more about what’s motivating you these days. Could you let me know?

For someone at my stage of life it's mostly about strength, but looking good for one's age certainly doesn't hurt!
