Cortisol Is Not the Enemy. Survival Mode Is.
Good morning. Let’s talk about something most people completely miss. You can: ✅Eat on time ✅Drink your water ✅Sleep 7–8 hours ✅Follow the plan perfectly But if you are storing stress? Your body will store fat. Not because it’s broken. Not because you failed. Because it thinks you’re in survival mode. Cortisol rises when you’re stressed. Cortisol signals danger. Danger signals survival. Survival signals fat storage. Why? Because ancestrally, fat meant protection. Fat meant you could survive famine. Fat meant you could outlast a threat. Your body is not trying to sabotage you. It is trying to save you. And here’s where people get misled. If you: ✅ Skip meals ✅ Under-eat ✅ Crash diet ✅ Take extreme appetite suppressants ✅ Push long fasts when your body isn’t regulated You push the body deeper into survival. And survival does one thing very well: It holds on. This is why we don’t starve the body here. This is why we don’t punish it. This is why we regulate it. Thrival mode > Survival mode. Thrival mode happens when: ✅ You eat consistently ✅ Blood sugar stabilizes ✅ Stress moves through instead of getting stored ✅ The nervous system feels safe And that’s why the 7-minute energy session matters. Seven minutes. To let stress pass. To let cortisol settle. To tell your body: “I am safe.” You don’t need more force. You need more regulation. Your body is wired for survival. We are teaching it how to thrive.

I’m a FAST40 grad - here’s what I’m focused on now…
I wanted to share a little perspective and encouragement for anyone here who’s struggling or feeling stuck. Before I did the Fast 40 with Dr. Cody Goldman, I was gaining weight no matter what I did. I was trying, I was paying attention, I was working hard, and nothing was working. Between Hashimoto’s, hormone imbalance, and autoimmune issues, my body just felt completely out of sync and honestly, pretty defeating. Before I ever found Dr. Cody, I spent three months working with a nutritionist and still continued to gain weight consistently. Even before that, I was doing body conditioning and training, eating six meals a day, working out six days a week, and following what most people would consider “doing everything right.” I knew how to be disciplined. I knew how to show up. But nothing was changing, because my body didn’t need more effort, it needed the right approach. This program helped reset more than just my eating, it helped reset my mindset and my relationship with my health. Since completing it, and it’s been about three years now, I’ve stayed consistent. Not perfect, but consistent. I focus on whole foods, avoid processed and canned foods, stay away from sugary drinks, and do my best to support my body with the supplements it actually needs. More than anything, Dr. Cody taught me how to understand and recognize what my body needs. That’s the part that changed everything. This isn’t just a program to “get results”, it teaches you how to read your body so you can support it long term. Now I know that when I don’t take care of myself, I feel it. My body tells me. And when I do take care of myself, everything works better. If you’re in the middle of this or just starting, stick with it. Sometimes your body just needs the right reset and the right support to finally start responding. This really did change things for me. I tried to find my original before and after but couldn’t seem to find it. Here is the jist…
