. . . And have a great 2026, brother!
First small gig
I just wanted to share something with You here.. I had my first small gig this week. Just a couple of songs, but for me it was a big break.. I was scared and worried that I will mess up chords and lyrics and everything. But everything went smooth and well, so I'm really happy with that! I guess there will be more soon.. :) At the same time I would like to ask for advice. 1. For once - I would love some kind of mixer with compression. So I don't have to adjust volume from song to song all the time - any recomendations? 2. I was lacking some kind of small monitoring just for me - I guess it is also common setup even for small gigs, righ? Or this is just a fancy stuff and I can pass on that? 3. Any advice from experienced people here? :)

Let’s goooooo!!!!!! 👊🏽👏🏽 This one for the “great memories” folder. Nothing but good energy comes from all those other stuff, huh? You know in your heart it’s what you want to do. Shaky voice, and heart rates, and what-ifs be damned you’re going to do what you love to do.
Grateful.
Long-ish weekend. 🦃 day here in the land of Mickey Mouse. Here to embarrass myself ones again 😬 for not practicing the song first before recording. Nonetheless, for all y’all celebrating the occasion, have a good Thanksgiving 🙏🏽
Grateful.

Very nice, brother. Lookin’ like a pro 😎. Can’t go wrong with a stout. Is that a monitor in front of you?

@Brad Simon on that note, I fell off the wagon last Veterans Day. Started drinking again 😂 10 years is all I could hold off. It’s all good. Nothing crazy. A couple shots here and there. But boy did Jack and Johnny taste so good.
Want To Be A Better Musician
Hello, everyone. Hope all is well with you. I’m new to this community, but I’m eager to get started. Like the title of my post says, I want to grow as a musician. I’ve played guitar, bass and piano since I was ten. I should be so much better but I’m not. I don’t know anything about theory or improv, I’m not as fast as I want, I can’t make music to save my life and I’ve become so frustrated with performing that I’m considering quitting. However, I have all these goals which includes fixing these things and releasing music like some of my fav artists. I have a short list of songs that I want to learn and record before the year is out. But I’m not sure what I should even learn first. I’ve considered learning music on sources like Music Pickup and songwriting communities, but they are too expensive and I don’t work enough to afford them. I’m very confused on which direction I should go: learning songs or developing my craft. I would like to solve this as fast as I can.
