Want To Be A Better Musician
Hello, everyone. Hope all is well with you. I’m new to this community, but I’m eager to get started. Like the title of my post says, I want to grow as a musician. I’ve played guitar, bass and piano since I was ten. I should be so much better but I’m not. I don’t know anything about theory or improv, I’m not as fast as I want, I can’t make music to save my life and I’ve become so frustrated with performing that I’m considering quitting. However, I have all these goals which includes fixing these things and releasing music like some of my fav artists. I have a short list of songs that I want to learn and record before the year is out. But I’m not sure what I should even learn first. I’ve considered learning music on sources like Music Pickup and songwriting communities, but they are too expensive and I don’t work enough to afford them. I’m very confused on which direction I should go: learning songs or developing my craft. I would like to solve this as fast as I can.
