Extending Your Range 🎯🏀
Want to shoot deeper? Don’t just shoot from deeper. Get stronger. Then shoot while you’re tired. One of the best ways to challenge your range is to lift first — then immediately get up shots. Build your chest, back, shoulders, and overall upper-body strength, then take that fatigue straight into your shooting session. Why? Long-range shooting requires you to generate and transfer force efficiently through your entire body. When you’re fatigued, that becomes harder. Your mechanics can change, your release can slow down, and your accuracy can drop. That’s exactly why I like training this way. Lift → get fatigued → shoot. You’re teaching your body to find a more efficient way to create power when you don’t have fresh legs and a fresh upper body. You can also experiment with a heavier basketball during controlled shooting drills to challenge your strength and force production — then return to a regulation ball and focus on translating that feeling into your normal shot. And yes, this is the type of work you see from elite shooters like Steph Curry and Damian Lillard: strength, power, and shooting are all part of the same equation. But remember: the goal isn’t to be tired just for the sake of being tired. The goal is to become a better shooter when you’re tired. So next time you train: 🏋️ Lift 🏀 Get straight into your shooting 🎯 Start close and rebuild your mechanics 📍 Gradually work your way out 🔥 Finish with game-speed shots from deep Your range isn’t just about your arms. It’s about how efficiently you can create and transfer force. Build the strength. Train the fatigue. Extend your range. Trainer: @Logan Hinton, a former 5 year pro across three countries. TRANSITION PULL-UPS 🏀
One of the best ways to punish a defense before it gets set. The goal isn’t just to run fast — it’s to use your speed to force the defender into a decision, then stop behind the space they give you. Try these: • Speed → hard stop → pull-up Attack downhill, get the defender retreating, then rise up when they give you enough space. • Push → crossover → pull-up Change direction as the defender starts to angle you off, then use the separation to get into your shot. • Hesitation → burst → pull-up Make the defender think you’re attacking the rim, then pull up when they drop their hips. • Reject the closeout → 1–2 pull-up If the defender is flying back toward you, attack their top foot and create a clean lane for the pull-up. WHEN TO USE IT: After a defensive rebound, steal, or quick outlet — especially when you have numbers or the primary defender is backpedaling. You’re trying to score before the defense can get organized. Research on basketball decision-making shows that factors like defensive pressure and shot distance meaningfully affect shot quality, so the skill is knowing when the pull-up is actually there — not forcing it. Watch Steph Curry. He’s elite at recognizing when the defense is retreating, using his pace to create hesitation, and rising into a pull-up before the defense is set. Train the move. Train the read. Then let the game tell you when to use it. Trainer: @Logan Hinton, a former 5 year pro across three countries. Train Like a Pro!

Logan’s BIG Fail
I know this isn’t my normal type of post, buts it’s a really funny trend going around, so I decided to share. It also doubles, showing that it’s okay to fail. I didn’t get the block, I embarrassed myself, but guess what. I got right back up. Life isn’t about getting knocked down, it’s about getting back up and trying again. Hope you guys enjoy this fail. Keep working and have a great day!
