Today I craved... Caffeine and chocolate 🍫 😆 we all know chocolate is emotional tragedy in a wrapper 😂 These cravings happened at..well when I wake and today when I was thinking 🤔 missing home 😔

Hi @Shonna Huckaby I totally understand this and I'm going to use this reference in future " emotional tragedy in a wrapper" I love that. It is and we all feel like this from time to time. @James Stott what could be used as a replacement or how do we overcome these strong emotions?

Broke my no sugar streak!
45 days of no refined sugar, but yesterday I decided to enjoy the choco truffles I received for Valentines ❤️ this later lead to me wanting to break into the accumulated Christmas collection of chocolate… 🍫 unlike my past behaviours, I picked one small thing and that was enough! Feel like I’ve turned a corner with controlling myself 🏆 Where is everyone else on their cut sugar journey??

@Stephanie Geeling I love peppermint and liquorice probably because it has a sweet taste 😂 Pukka do an after dinner one that is good too, aid digestion apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️

Day 1
- Hi, my name is Shonna, I'm a mother that has gone thru the ups and downs of life, I drive a truck 🚛 for a living so healthy choices out a gas stations is not easy 😂 but I need to change my life around and get into the right mindset for the changes that I want to make - I want to cut sugar for now because of age I want to be around to see grandkids run around & reek havoc on my son and wife 😂 - The main thing I struggle with is cravings and caffeine withdrawal - The kind of support I need during this challenge is just daily check-ins with the others and seeing how they handle the daily battles - I'm committed to going sugar free for 21 days to unlock peace with my mind knowing that I do have the mindset and will power to make more healthier choices for my life 🧬 I only get 1 shot at this life I need make the most of it

Welcome to the CSC Shona you've made the first step and having read your bio you've got this!! It is mindset that will get you started and then staying consistent will be down to a little planning, not much and it get easier and easier when you know what choices to make. Have healthy snack options in your truck and meal prep were possible, stay well hydrated ( we often feel hungry when actually we are thirsty because this mechanism isn't brilliant and if you feel thirsty you're already staring to become dehydrated) Move around when you can, go for a walk and also practice mindfulness, take time out to switch off and focus on breathing and being calm. Stress, Cortisol & Regulation Strategy
What triggered me, fatigue and a break in routine, my eating times were out of sync due to meetings that over ran. Fortunately I had food available that I'd prepped and had that along with plenty of water. The cravings quickly subsided and the offer of further tea and biscuits in the meetings was politely declined. I also focused on what I want to achieve long term and know I have to be consistent to get maximum benefits and results. Having a nutrition plan has helped massively!
When the cravings hit
Hi all, for me the cravings hit most when I'm tired without doubt and coupled with poor meal planning and preparation. I'll usually drink about a pint of spring water and this allows me time to get something nutritious ready to eat, then I'm good and back on track.

Well done @Shonna Huckaby sometimes when we are busy rushing around on our daily routine this is when, without really thinking we make poorer choices, you did the right thing! I keep a container of mixed nuts and some fruit in my car for that very reason.
