Day 2
Today I craved... Caffeine and chocolate 🍫 😆 we all know chocolate is emotional tragedy in a wrapper 😂 These cravings happened at..well when I wake and today when I was thinking 🤔 missing home 😔

I’ve come to realise that I too am an emotional eater - at home we call them “snack-sidents” 🙈 During the first couple of weeks it’s good to have a non-sweet food as an alternative on hand. This way you don’t have the battle with restriction, because you’ve replaced it with something else instead. Cravings soon reduce for sweet things! I also find that I need to change my environment - e.g. leave the room / go for a walk / brush my teeth / paint my nails (so I can’t pick anything up 🤣) . Putting time and friction between me and the snack helps me in the moment.
Broke my no sugar streak!
45 days of no refined sugar, but yesterday I decided to enjoy the choco truffles I received for Valentines ❤️ this later lead to me wanting to break into the accumulated Christmas collection of chocolate… 🍫 unlike my past behaviours, I picked one small thing and that was enough! Feel like I’ve turned a corner with controlling myself 🏆 Where is everyone else on their cut sugar journey??

@Paul Barnes oo! I’ve not tried that one. Will have to give it a go!
Day 1
- Hi, my name is Shonna, I'm a mother that has gone thru the ups and downs of life, I drive a truck 🚛 for a living so healthy choices out a gas stations is not easy 😂 but I need to change my life around and get into the right mindset for the changes that I want to make - I want to cut sugar for now because of age I want to be around to see grandkids run around & reek havoc on my son and wife 😂 - The main thing I struggle with is cravings and caffeine withdrawal - The kind of support I need during this challenge is just daily check-ins with the others and seeing how they handle the daily battles - I'm committed to going sugar free for 21 days to unlock peace with my mind knowing that I do have the mindset and will power to make more healthier choices for my life 🧬 I only get 1 shot at this life I need make the most of it

Hey @Shonna Huckaby wonderful to have you aboard the cut sugar ship! 😄 Your mischievous motivations to join the challenge made me giggle 🤣 I travel a little for my job and service stations options drives me mad! They are so ill-equipped for healthy fuel when you’re on the road. Good luck with your first week! Here cheering you on!
Week 2 - checking in
Good morning, I wanted to check in with you all after the weekend, how has it been? Were there many temptations or are you cruising along through this nicely. I was listening to an interesting pod on willpower this morning. The point I took away from it was, our willpower diminishes through the day and can get used up on certain things like restriction. So as we move forward into our second week, the mental framework to follow a craving could look something like this; -Having the craving for chocolate- Noticing this and writing down what emotions you are/ were feeling before the craving, - hunger - Loneliness - Anger - Bored - Upset Then reframing the situation, it’s not restriction, yes I can have the chocolate, just not yet. (On the pod the guy was saying wait 10 minutes then have it, or a healthy alternative, like the herbal tea, some nuts etc). And finally, preventing yourself from ending up in a situation, so this could mean having the healthy alternative good to go, as in a little pot of nuts or flask of tea / coffee. CHECK IN No essays needed. Just honesty. 1. How do you feel overall? Energy, mood, focus. 2. Have any cravings shown up? When? What triggered them? 3. What has been your hardest moment? 4. Did you eat sugar last week? If yes, what happened around it? (No judgement.) 5. What helped you stay on track? 6. What are you struggling with right now? 7. What’s one win? 8. What’s your intention for tomorrow?

I’ve been sugar-free for 41 days, and I’m honestly amazed at how much my cravings have changed. The old me would have found it so hard to resist jelly beans or chocolate M&M’s, but today I feel no pull toward them at all! 🤯 Those small daily choices and hacks people have shared are really adding up and proving their power! 🍬 🍫 🛡️ ❌
