If You See A HUGE EXPLOSION in the Far Distance, That's My Brain!
Hi, my name is Pat Ann, I’m from Ontario, Canada, and I work as a commercial artist, geared mainly towards children and the child at heart. I have experience with ADHD, OCD-Perfectionism and RSD. You can ask me questions about: anything about my career and the three above "t'isms!" - I want to get these things from ADHD Harmony: I want my brain to calm down and I want to slow my mind to a peaceful, less anxious attitude. Yes, I do meditate, when there isn't 25 priorities, screaming at me all at once. I'm hoping ADHD Harmony will help me realize that I'm the only priority and yoga, exercise and meditation will fit a bit easier in my daily life. (and someone with ADHD/Perfectionism/RSD can have a mindful, structured work/life.) - For fun, I like to: Pretend I know what I'm doing with my houseplants and aquariums. - (The picture below is my niece being picked up agianst her will by me. She's all grown up now) http://www.pat-ann.art

Becareful with TM! They can be way too expensive for meditation. I looked into it a long time ago and the counselor was trying to get me to pay for a full Transcendental Meditation schooling and have me become a teacher as well. There are chapters of TM that don't cost an Ivy league tuition, but you have to do your research. I found that I enjoy the app put out by Sam Harris; "Waking Up." It costs a fraction of what TM charges but gives you a full mindful education, along with some philosophical recordings, as well as an online community with other people practicing mindfulness. The closest to what I could find similar to Waking Up is Raja Yoga. - A very quiet, viewing of your inner self, through your mind's eye. Letting your mind do it's thing and you are just observing it. Hatha Yoga can give you that "walking thru a door into peace" as well. As long as the yoga studio is design for meditation for mind body and soul. A studio, that does yogic strength training and body toning can be also meditating. If you are a beginner, I wouldn't start there. I hope I gave you something to ponder over. 🙂

Oh, I love the fact that the majority here voted, "All the above!" That makes the calamity which is my present life a hopeful challenge.
