Podcasting with your learners/clients?
@Leonardo Gomes and I are presenting at the TBLT 2025 research conference in a few weeks on podcasting as a task type. We'll be focusing on the Willis framework of TBLT. In preparation for the talk, we'd love to incorporate teacher perspectives on podcasting. If you have a few seconds, please answer the poll here. If you have a few more seconds, drop a comment below quickly detailing how you've used podcasting in your classes (as a task, assessment, homework, or other). "Podcast" can be a loose definition (even if you had students record conversations). Have you used them before? How did it go?

Podcasting with your learners/clients?

I am a total podcast nerd, in my private life and professionally. I started my own podcast in January and it's so much fun! I use podcasts with my clients mostly as listening practice between sessions, and as a basis for discussion. We usually pick a topic that is relevant to them, and I send a podcast (also TED talks in audio version sometimes) and prepare very open discussion questions for our next meeting. Their task is to a) make sure they listen b) decide how to listen in a way that serves them (in one shot, in two parts, in more parts), just once or more than once, whatever works & pay attention to what works and what doesn't c) make sure they write down time stamps of anything that really stops comprehension, if any. It always works out very well. We love podcasts!

Poll: 1.3 Why obvious, simple, and easy is wrong
Hey peeps, I've just started the 3rd video and I'm curious to see what people pick when given the option between a course that's hard to sell and one that's easy to sell. What was your choice?

@Andrew Woodbury hey Andrew, thanks for your insight, and yes, it's definitely helpful. I'll keep all that in mind as I carry on with the course. I feel once I properly nail step 1 everything will become smoother. Inspired by the ideal client sheets you shared in 1.5 I am actually trying to create client profiles rather than abstract, random avatars -- I feel if I zoom in on each of my favourite clients over the years, I will be able to craft more effective messaging. Poco a poco... :)
