Caught creating a self
One day, when I was a teenager, I caught myself creating a self. I was sitting in a balcony in my flat in Kyiv when it suddenly hit me that I had to take on some personal qualities to become 'a someone'. I didn't know WHY I had to be that particular someone. Everybody seemed to be doing it - and the only alternative to that was "being noone", and I didn't want that. The curious part was, deep down, I didn't feel like any of the qualities I could assume would describe me truthfully. I knew that every quality would be a lie or an act, but I had to do that anyway, because it was the only game in town. I wasn't conscious back then of the real reasons why I was doing it. I didn't question who I really was at that point. Today I was contemplating "Why did I feel compelled to create and maintain a sense of being a particular self in the first place?", and this memory came up. So I decided to share it because I thought it was interesting.

Hi lilia, thanks for sharing this I find it relatable. I think and in my experience ofc the purpose of creating and constantly maintaining a particular self in the context of what you shared comes from the thought that "the external world" contains others that are "selves" so in order to survive there must be a sense of self to interact and be with other selves. I remember relating myself to others constantly whenever I try to do anything in relation to them. also about the point you shared about " being noone" seems not a good idea maybe because of a conclusion we make at a certain point that by not being a specific way it could lead to unknown consequences, and as we grow as teenagers we register the ways of being which had lead to those unwanted consequences, so we learn to not be that and be a specific other way.
Inquiry about Community Sessions
Hello everyone, I'm Nouha (new here) I got a question about 'Community Session' meetings I watched some previous recordings to get an idea. and noticed that you usually have a theme or a specific area to work on in each session. my question is, as a new member I want to know how it goes. are the sessions based on the workshops being held or not always ? Thanks ♡

Increasing consciousness frees us from this falsely limited world so we can access greater freedom and happiness, not to mention gain more effectiveness and creativity. Becoming more conscious takes investigation, learning, and contemplation. We provide these tools and support.” — Peter Ralston
