Day 5...1st part of the journey completed!
Wowser! Ive been staring at this screen for a while now trying to figure out what I feel, what I think having read my full report. There I am... up the back, just waiting for someone to need me. It's been really lonely, being me, waiting to slot in where help is needed. I had never seen it that way before! I need to need MYSELF; I want to appreciate myself more and take better care of myself, the way I take care of others. It's like I don't think I matter...BUT I DO! I'm a bit discombobulated at the moment, and definitely tired, but one thing I know is that I need to stop "waiting". My life is rushing past and I want to be part of it. I may have more to say once further mental digestion of the report has occurred, but for now, here's my plan! Once I'm done here, I'm going to have a shower, put on some make up and some pretty clothes and I'm going to my anxiety coffee group to chat and laugh with the others. I'm going to take my 'sparkle'(which doesn't get to go out much) and light up the group with laughter, because I'm good at that. I love laughing 🤭 OK, I can already feel a 'shiny' approaching, so I'm gonna scoot before I get distracted. Much love to you all. Seeya later 💛

Just to close this particular situ, I DID go to my coffee meeting, and I DID look pretty and we all had a great time, laughing and sharing stories. Really glad I went. Now I'm home, I'm just slowing down and focusing, because my next job today is to close that loop and it's a gnarly one for me 🤪 but it needs to be done. Then I'm going to celebrate these achievements, but I'm not sure how yet 🤯🤪🤭
Day 4 win
Wow, some tough questions. I found rating myself really hard, didn't want to give a 'knee jerk' reaction because that would have shown up as "everything's crap", but it actually isn't! I found 2 areas above 5! Even on really bad days, they would still be above 5! Who knew 🤭
Were you misdiagnosed as a child or even as an adult?
Many a time ADD and ADHDers are misdiagnosed with issues such as anxiety, depression, and in some cases borderline personality disorder. I have been through all these diagnoses myself and have heard the same from quite a few people who have ADHD. Was wondering if this was the case with you too.

@Proma Nautiyal Yes, you are right, Proma. We've been communicating much better since I made the discovery. I didn't recognise anything in her; thought it was just teenage anxiety, especially following Lockdown. So, I took to deep-diving as the doctor hasn't been much help, and lo and behold, I found me. You don't say how old your son is. My girl managed to 'hide' her way through the whole of High School. I have since found out that a few of her friends had suggested she should get tested, but no one ever told me...until I saw the aftermath of her school years. I knew she wasn't working very hard, but, on the words of her tutors "we'll get her through". They didn't! I had been behind her all the way, nay, beside her all the way but I simply didn't know her propensity for lying until it was too late. She had always been so honest. I felt so guilty, 'did I miss something?', 'why was I so blind?', 'surely I should have seen something wrong?'. No, I didn't. Her explanation? Sometimes it's just easier to lie! Wow...that blew me away! I'm beginning to understand now. I truly hope you have a better school outcome, and, yes, although I can't reclaim any of the passed 65 years, I can use my new understanding to help her sail into her water. That is a blessing 🙏🙂

@Proma Nautiyal Ooh yes, that sensory overload lol now it just takes a little eye contact between my girl and me and we just sense it together and adjust accordingly, because we both get that. Makes life so much easier. I've also learnt that she is sensitive to the sound of a person eating. I'm not but I do try to be aware that it triggers her. Patterns...no, not so much with her. I've been trying to encourage building a simple 'pattern' structure since forever, starting from early childhood, but she doesn't retain that sort of info, or doesn't appear to, but then she's been diagnosed with Adhd, ptsd, depression, anxiety with autistic traits. Boy, did I cry. When I asked her if she understood, she said, "Yes, I've seen it on tiktok" with a perfectly deadpan face. Boy, did I cry some more...after she'd left. Then there's me...I'm different again. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, Proma. It means a lot 🫶
Day 3 done & enjoyed!👁️opener 🙂
I remembered something today while listening to the Q&A for day 3, about getting started🤯 Once upon a time, I made a system for myself. I call it 'advert jobs'. I would find something I really wanted to watch, usually something like CSI 😍 then I would pick an area that needed attention. Then I would sit down to watch...but when the adverts came on, I'd go like the devil to see how much I could get done before my program started again, then I'd watch again...until the next adverts. I got an amazing amount of stuff done really quick because I wanted to be able to keep track of the story...something else I struggled with after brain surgery. Keeping track of the story was a major win, getting advert jobs done, another win, and quite often, as the closing credits rolled, I'd get up and continue with the job. Yet another win! I wondered why I had forgotten about this till now. I've realised it's because there are no adverts on Netflix 😂🤣😂 Going to set a timer in future, because I often find myself waiting for the adverts, even to go to the loo 😂 (TMI?) It worked for me for a long time, just didn't translate to new tech 🙃 (where did last century go? Just asking for a friend 🤭)
Day 2 What a ride...and not in a good way...yet 😵‍💫
Had to do this over two days. First viewing just blew my mind...slight spinout occurred... Have just finished. It's overwhelming when I realised the true definition of some of these words. I never thought I could be described as a people-pleaser or a perfectionist... turns out I'm both. In fact, I seem to have worn all the masks during my life... no wonder my neck's in such bad shape 🙃 It was the strangest thing, looking at me from this perspective. It was as if a fog lifted on a portal in my mind; as the fog cleared, I could see myself, key moments that I hadn't really remembered, situations that had gone wrong, things said to me when I was young. I felt the grip on my wrist of my mum's hand; she was telling me to sit down and be quiet. "Too boisterous". My memory falls short there, but I think I was a very lonely kid. My mum was a raging alcoholic while I was at junior school, so I stopped bringing friends home. Alcoholism was just being a drunkard back then. Anyway, yeah, I feel really bad for little me. it was bad enough that I had a dreadful stutter...being told to be quiet. I had already thought that I was broken and I still hadn't reached double digits! Phew, I feel a bit better now...that was a LOT! Going to day 3 now 🙏🙂
