Nilisha from Mississauga
Hi, my name is Nilisha Morarji and I’m from Mississauga. #Vision I want to get these things from the community (goals you want to achieve) 1. Learn about ways to stay on track of my health and fitness goals . 2. Broaden my horizon about plant based options . 3. Feel part of a community who prioritizes their personal growth. For fun, I like to: 1. Hike, camp and be outdoors. 2. Travel and explore different cultures and cuisines. 3. Reading and learning about the earth and astronomy. Can’t wait to meet you all!

How to see a livestream of comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) Gianluca Masi at the Virtual Telescope Project in Rome, Italy, will be broadcasting live views of comet C/2022 E3 ZTF through a huge telescope. There are two live feeds scheduled for January 13, 2023 (perihelion) and February 2, 2023 (Earth flyby). https://www.virtualtelescope.eu/2022/12/30/comet-c-2022-e3-ztf-flyby-with-the-earth-online-observation-2-feb-2023/
I'm going to Everest!
I wanted to share 2 massive upcoming events that I'll be taking part in for 2023 that I'm super excited about! The first one Everest Basecamp. From April 27-May 16, I'll be heading to Lukla, Nepal with 8 others and spending the next two weeks trekking up to Everest Basecamp! I've never done anything like this before and couldn't be more excited. We'll be walking up a total of 8300 ft and just shy of 70 km in total one way but because of the reduced oxygen levels, we'll have to spread it out of several days to avoid altitude sickness. Given how I've been more of a gym goer and someone on the higher end of metabolisms, these next 4 months for me will be a balance of adding more endurance, weight, and muscle to be prepared for what's to come (including the inevitable weight loss on my end lol). The second is my first Triathlon in Toronto in July! I've done 5k, 10k and 15k runs via Tough Mudder and 50km bike rides via Ride for Heart, but the one thing I haven't done is swim long distance. It's been one of my fears to swim in an open lake for meters on end, let alone 750m. So more training on my end needed there as well. Nonetheless, doing a Triathlon like this is has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I can't wait to do it. I've always been one to neglect endurance where I can (I do the bare minimum to keep me fit like getting my steps in and doing weekly HIITs), but one things for sure - seeing 2 locked dates in your calendar has made me add endurance in just to be overprepared. That being said - having the fundamentals of nutrition, movement, rest and emotion control basically automated internally (habits), allows me to be able to partake in events like this without any fear and that is empowering. This is WHY I do what I do in coaching - I want to help people master their health habits so that they increase their capacity to not only look the part, but feel empowered to do things they were once limited by. If you're currently stuck in a place where you have some weight to lose, energy to regain and habits to rewire and you want to upgrade your baseline to a place where signing up for a triathlon is something you can do without too much thought...

Sounds exciting man, good luck!
Simplifying your diet
As I've grown older, I've found myself being more attracted to the simple things. Simple meals, simple systems and simple routines. These are the bread and butter of what produce the results I desire for my brain, body and gut. This is the 80 from my 80/20. The remaining 20 is where I fit in all the things that give me temporary joy - drinks, sugary foods, snacks and dining out. I found that this is what allows me to stay disciplined towards my goals while still enjoying the process. Not too much restriction but also not too much indulgence. For any goal that you may have, discipline and consistency are the main drivers. And making things super simple enable us to be more disciplined and more consistent since there is less room for excuse. What are your thoughts on this? Do you enjoy simplicity or complexity?

Great post. I prefer simplicity because it allows me to practice more gratitude. I haven’t completely figured out why, but I think it has to do it with the fact that I am able to stay focused on the bigger picture of what my goal is without getting bogged down/distracted from the complexity of the task/meal/routine etc. I liken it to planning by day: I can either plan using a complicated app on my phone which has a bunch of bells and whistles and diverges my attention away me from my original goal, or I could just write it down on a piece of paper and execute. I find that simpler methods often yield better results.
3 ways to make your exercise harder
Going to the gym but not seeing any progress? You might not be pushing yourself as much as you need. You could be working out all you want, but if its not giving your body a higher stimulus to adapt to, it has no reason to grow and change. How do you provide enough stimulus? Here are 3 ways: 1. Add more weight - even if it’s only 2.5lb, stimulus is stimulus. Your only goal is to get a bit stronger each and every week 2. Add more volume - if you want to grow legs but only hit it once a week, increase it to 2 days a week. Or if you’re only doing 3 sets, increase it 4. The more you do something, the stronger you get at it 3. Time under tension - slow down your movements especially in the eccentric phases like the descending portion of a squat. This will massively increase the difficulty of the movement even with lighter weights (great for home workouts)Add these to your workouts and watch your progress pick back up to where you like it If you want a customized plan that adjusts to real time data, comment PLAN below and I’ll reach out to you personally.

Thanks for this. What is more beneficial: doing more sets or doing more reps per set?
