SSI Index Scores
Is anyone else seeing an improvement in their LinkedIn SSI score after following the advice here? Mine has improved from 50 to 55 (from top 6% in industry to top 2%) in the last month. Thanks again @David Stevens
Awareness: Impressions Benchmark
I know some of you have started posting content, which is great because it improves your visibility on LinkedIn. That said, it can be disheartening when impressions, engagement and likes look low. That’s normal and it doesn’t mean the content isn’t working. The graph below shows the impression range you should realistically be aiming for, based on the size of your network. Use it as a benchmark, not a vanity metric.

Really helpful, thanks @David Stevens. Keep posting everyone, it does pay off! 👍
Keep up the good work!
If you've attended the webinars run by @David Stevens and @Constance Johnson, and optimised your LinkedIn profile, then you're already way ahead of many LinkedIn users. To get the most from the effort you've put in so far, you need to keep at it. Don't get disheartened, you've already done a lot of the hard work. I was contacted by a recruiter this week because one of their colleagues said I was the first person who sprang to mind when they saw the job description, so being (and staying) visible on LI definitely helps! - Keep your profile optimised. David keeps uncovering useful info to make your profile more visible, so it's worth checking back here regularly! - Post content regularly to engage with your network. The algorithm will work for you to raise your visibility, but the rules seem to change regularly. Current advice is to post 2-3 times a week, keep content relevant to your sector/role where possible, and don't engage with obvious AI-generated comments (even going so far as to block those users from your network). - Enhancing your post with an image or poll can also work in your favour. - Like and comment on relevant posts. Engaging in constructive and relevant conversations on posts really seems to help. - Grow your network. I've set myself a goal of sending a connection request to one industry-relevant person per day, and if you're posting regularly you should get incoming connections/followers as well.
Staying Visible on LinkedIn during Career Breaks
One of the filters available to recruiters is search job titles using the refinement of “current” role rather than “current or past.” If your profile isn’t tied to a current position (when this filter is applied), you simply won’t appear in those searches. The fix is to create a 'role' with CFO as your job title NOT the career break option and this will keep you visible in recruiter searches. See the 1st example below using @Simon Coultas profile. If it looks like the second option you've set it up incorrectly and please give me a shout.

Great advice, thanks David. I updated this on my profile earlier today.
SSI Index
Have you heard of LinkedIn's SSI Index? If not, you can request yours using the link below: https://www.linkedin.com/sales/ssi It is a useful tool to identify potential avenues for you to improve your Visibility and Awareness on LinkedIn. For example, I need to work on "Engage with insight" - see image below. Please note three things: 1. Anything above 70% will gain a 20% boost from the LinkedIn algorithm. So people hitting 70% is considered 'excellent' by LinkedIn. Even with 60% I am in the Top 6% of Recruiters. 2. You are not selling so your score maybe in the 30's but we're using this as a tool to inform not to be down about. 3. Use the insights from this tool as inspiration and ideas to action on the platform e.g. are you connecting with people, adding meaningful comments and establishing your professional brand?

Interesting, thanks David. My SSI is 50, and the industry average for accounting is 29, putting me in the top 6%. Average for my whole network is 44, putting me in the top 38%. Is it possible to view the SSI averages per industry? I'd be interested to know where accountants sit on the scale.
