Thomas only started half way through the season initially as a reserve out on pitch for under 8 team, started to cover in goal now and then also putting in man of match performances on pitch by the end of the season became main goalkeeper and got managers player of the season it’s been great to see him enjoying himself and putting in the work, he did not have any specific goalkeeper training either, this summer is starting goalkeeper sessions and looks forward to playing under 9s 7v7 next season.

Looking for some advice on head injuries for goalkeepers, my son is 8 years old and seems to attract a ball to the face/forehead far to often for my liking, recently hit from close range to side of jaw with instant pain and spasm of jaw muscles, woke up with vomiting and diagnosed concussion, obviously rest from football currently but he does want to continue as a goalkeeper, I guess my main 2 questions are any recommended head guards and is there anything fundamentally he could be doing wrong to have this happening.
