I outreached for the first time and landed my first client in 24 hours.... On IG Actually, he wanted to sell me on his services lol 😜 But I twisted the knife around and ended up selling him instead... We booked a sales call to commence today and I just got off it... Super excited... And I'm not working for free 😯 Yes, I'm gonna get paid for this. He hired me to run a 3-Sequence Cold email campaign... And to set up his automations... He was blown away by the sample email I sent him... One lesson learnt: "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step" I wasn't sure if I was gonna land a client that fast but I was determined to reach my goal this month... After studying for days and watching a lot of Copywriting videos on how to get clients... I figured out that, if I really wanted to land a client this month... I need to stop whatever I'm doing, quit procrastinating and take the first step towards outreaching... I that's what I did. I dm 4 person's on IG... 2 responded but this 1 guy showed interest in my services... It's very hard and rare to find such people these days... Anyways... Yoo, what's up… This post could genuinely be the difference between you making $5k-10k/mo, Or deciding to quit copywriting in a couple of weeks. Let me explain: It was a sunny school morning, just 3 months ago. I had a sales call with my potential first client at 5:30 AM… My eyes were begging for mercy as I forced myself to open them and get out of bed… I SOMEHOW managed to make it to my desk, and get on the call. A couple mins into the call, me and my prospect were chillin' together… 👉This was until he brought up the price.👈 I asked him how much he’d be willing to pay me… And with a small bit of uncertainty in his voice, he said “around…$2K/mo” My heart started pounding off my chest, My ears started ringing, It felt like WW3 in my head! I couldn’t show it though. So I calmly agreed to the price and about 3 minutes later we got off the call. RIGHT when I hit that “leave meeting” button, I started jumping up and down in excitement.😂 My first client was paying me 4 figures a MONTH. However, both I and my client knew that the job wasn't over. I STILL had to write a long-ass welcome sequence… So that’s what I did. After a week of hitting my Picasso touches on this welcome sequence… We launched what I THOUGHT, was some of my best work. But man was I quickly humbled… Just 72 hours later, I checked how the emails were performing… 5% open rate?? My ego felt like it got hit by a full-force punch from Mike Tyson. That sequence was converting as much as a pitch from those IG paragraph bandits in the 4D discord. And this ALL happened because the emails were landing in spam. I was using shit SLs, and spammy language in the emails. And sadly, it wasn’t long till my client caught on… I made him $300 MAX for what he paid me. So obviously, he decided to stop working with me… It felt humbling…to say the least. I didn’t touch my desk for 2 days. (that’s how demotivated I was) But from that day on, I learned the #1 lesson I use to close & keep retainer clients like it's lightwork…

Hey guys I just finished the 4 hour course but I feel like its too soon to make outreaches. My question is: How much would you practice copy (writing it and getting it reviewed) before actually starting to outreach/ getting paid to do copywriting? Because I feel like I need to practice a ton of time...

I got my first free trail for a week. I broke my right wrist yesterday so ive been typing with one hand. Going to be writing that way too.
