Refresh semantic model credentials
Hi guys, may I have your help again 😊 I have a Warehouse in my Fabric workspace. Then I build a Power BI report on it via import mode in Power BI Desktop. Then I publish this report to the same workspace. I thought I wouldn't have to configure any specific connection because the semantic model and report are in the same workspace. But when trying to refresh the semantic model, it fails with an error for missing credentials on the data source. There is just this one data source in the report. Even when I then try to establish a connection with the user and password with which I am logged in into the workspace, that doesn't work (it says wrong credentials). What do I have to do and why is it not working? Do I have to add my user account somehow to the data warehouse? Or create a service principal? Thanks for any advice!!

Thanks for your answer! I have several reasons to better use import mode instead of direct query. Does anyone know how to configure refresh with import mode and Fabric DWH?

I got help and want to share the solution with you: I needed to create a cloud connection where I had to choose SQL Server and add the SQL endpoint of the DWH there. Create and share cloud data sources in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn Connect to cloud data sources in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Assign Fabric Capacity costs as 'Partner of Record'
In Azure there is the possibility to assign aPartner of Record to a subscription to show who has been support for developing an Azure solution. Does anyone here know if this is also possible for Fabric capacities? Does it work the same way?

Semantic model storage mode decision
Hi community, I plan to build several Power BI reports on a lakehouse in fabric (currently F2 capacity, may grow in the future) and I have not yet decidedif I should use import mode or direct lake. My considerations: - its no "big data" and we don't really need the immediate data refresh ofdirect lake - i want to use GIT integration with the workspace for version control and don't want to add my data model to the repository, so direct lake would be a good thing because it hasno local data storage Which other considerations would you have on this topic? Any ideas appreciated! :)

Thanks @Bryan Beeharry and @Lori Keller for your input! That already helps a lot. - I think we don't need calculated columns because we gather all requirements from business users and can transform data in the warehouse or lakehouse directly. - I will definitly keep in mind your thoughts about the consumption! - I see that there are a few difficulties about a Direct Lake model and tend to pick import mode. My only concerns are still about the GIT integration (Github). Does anybody has experiences with that? I know PBI datamodels are highly compressed and don't need that much storage but still it is no good practice to store the datamodel in git? - But users do not need read access to the lakehouse if they are only accessing the reports through an app, right?

@Antony Catella Thanks. That artticle linked in the post helped a lot (Direct Lake vs. Import mode in Power BI - SQLBI), on the base of this I think import mode is the right decision for our project! :)

I know a few people have asked me about Power Apps, which I don't know much about to be honest, BUT there is another Skool community, specifically for learning Power Apps... Check it out šŸ‘‡ šŸ”— Learn Power Apps (Skool Community) by @Darren Neese

Thanks for pointing this out! But now I'm wondering - why doesn't there exist a Power BI group?
DP-600 Exam doubts
Hii Everyone.. Good morning & good evening.. Did anyone attempt the DP-600 certification? Do we have a case study type of questions or is it like multiple choice type of questions?
