Quote from the Early Church Fathers: The cross of Christ as victory, by Augustine of Hippo, 354-430 A.D.
"It is not difficult, therefore, to see how the devil was conquered when he, who was slain by him, rose again. But there is something greater and more profound of comprehension: to see how the devil was conquered precisely when he was thought to be conquering, namely, when Christ was crucified. For at that moment the blood of him who had no sin at all, was shed for the remission of our sins (Matthew 26:28, 1 John 3:5). The devil deservedly held those whom he had bound by sin to the condition of death. So it happened that One who was guilty of no sin freed them justly from this condemnation (Hebrews 2:14). The strong man was conquered by this paradoxical justice and bound by this chain, that his vessels [booty] might be taken away. Those vessels which had been vessels of wrath were turned into vessels of mercy (Romans 9:22-23)." (excerpt ON THE TRINITY 13.15.19)

Happy Sunday📖
🎤 Topic: LIVING TO MAKE DISCIPLES Opening:Good morning, everyone! Today, I want us to think about a simple question: “Who do you influence with your life?” Main Verse:Matthew 28:19:"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Key Message:This verse is called the Great Commission. It is Jesus’ last instruction to His followers, and it is not just for pastors or missionaries. It is for every believer, including us as students. Making disciples does not have to be complicated. It starts with the people around us, our friends, classmates, and roommates. It is about living in a way that shows Christ through our words, actions, and choices, and helping others grow in their faith. Jesus gives us three steps in this verse: 1. Go Step out and connect with people intentionally 2. Make Disciples Encourage, guide, and share your faith 3. Baptize Help others commit to Christ, celebrating their new life Supporting Thought:Acts 1:8 reminds us that we do not do this alone:"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth." Even as students balancing school and life, we are empowered to influence others positively for Christ. Interactive Questions: 1. Who in your life right now might need to see Jesus through your actions? 2. What small step can you take this week to encourage or mentor a friend spiritually? 3. Have you ever shared your faith with someone before? How did it feel? 4. Why do you think Jesus wants us to start disciple-making with the people close to us? Practical Application:Pray for at least one friend you can encourage or share God’s love with this weekLook for small ways to reflect Christ, help a classmate, speak kindly, or share a testimony of how God has helped youRemember, disciple-making is more about influence than perfection Closing Thought:Ask yourself: “Who needs to see Jesus through me today?”

GOD’S PHONE NUMBER
When I was a young boy, long before cell phones, text messages and email, my grandmother told me that Jeremiah 33:3 was God’s phone number! I believed her and she was RIGHT! The verse says, “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” I just want to say, it might be time to stop talking to other people about your problems and present your requests to God! Cry out to Him. Tell Him what’s in your heart. Ask Him to show you the way forward, the things you don’t know. God has never failed you and He is not about to start now! If you love God and are not ashamed of Him don’t forget Amen!

Jan 24: People Were Saying of Jesus, 'He Is beside Himself'
Mark 3:19b, 20-21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for people were saying, "He is beside himself." (v.21). Why would Jesus' relatives be so upset with him when he began his public ministry? On one occasion Jesus remarked that a man's enemies will be the members of his own household (Matthew 10:36). The Gospel of Mark records the reaction of Jesus' relatives when he went home: they came to seize him. They, no doubt, thought that Jesus must have gone mad or become a religious fanatic. How could a good home-body from Nazareth leave his carpentry trade and go off to become a traveling preacher? To their way of thinking, Jesus had thrown away the security and safety of a quiet and respectable life close to his family and relatives. Do not be afraid to follow Jesus all the way Jesus probably expected to meet opposition from the highest religious authorities in Jerusalem. For him to meet opposition from his own relatives must have been even harder. When we choose to be disciples of the Lord Jesus and to follow his will for our lives, we can expect to meet opposition from those who are opposed to the Gospel message and Christian way of life. But the hardest opposition may actually come from someone close to us, a family member or close friend who doesn't want us to take the Gospel message too seriously. Jesus met opposition - whether from family, friend, or foe - with grace and determination to fulfill his Father's will. Lord Jesus, may I always put you first and find joy in doing your will. May your love and charity grow in me, especially in the face of opposition and adversity. Amen. - READ: Mark 3:19b, 20-21 - Is the Lord Jesus honored in your home? - Are you ready to obey and follow the Lord Jesus even if others oppose your doing so?

A sobering snapshot of the cost of obedience. When Jesus stepped fully into His calling, even His own family misunderstood Him mistaking divine purpose for madness. Mark reminds us that following God’s will can disrupt comfort, expectations, and even family peace. Yet Jesus did not retreat; He responded with grace, focus, and unwavering loyalty to the Father’s mission. Discipleship isn’t always applauded sometimes it’s questioned at the dinner table but true faith chooses obedience over approval. (Turns out, the narrow way can run straight through your living room.)
