When Pressure Pretends to be Purpose
Have you ever convinced yourself that you’re just being productive, when really you’re in panic mode? It’s such a sneaky pattern. The mind says, I’m just focused, I’m just driven, but underneath, the body is screaming, please slow down. And because the sensations of panic, racing heart, tunnel vision, urgency, can feel a lot like passion, it’s easy to mistake one for the other. That’s what happened to me recently. I woke up feeling stressed and immediately slipped into “fix it” mode. My thoughts went straight to what needed doing, what wasn’t working, what I had to prove. It felt like purpose, like determination, but it was really my nervous system trying to find safety through control. When we’re dysregulated, the body creates an illusion of urgency. It tells us we need to act right now to feel okay again. And because that rush of adrenaline feels productive, we call it motivation. But it’s not. It’s fear disguised as focus. The difference between purpose and pressure isn’t always obvious, but you can start to tell by how your body feels. Pressure contracts you, it’s tight, rushed, and restless. Purpose expands you, it’s calm, steady, and open. So now, when I notice that proving energy creeping in, I pause. One hand on my heart, one on my belly. I take a few slow breaths and ask myself: Would I still want to do this if I already felt safe and enough? That question always brings me back. Because purpose doesn’t rush. It meets you where you are.
When Spiritual Growth Feels like Avoidance
Have you ever told yourself you’re “honouring your energy,” but deep down you know you’re just avoiding something uncomfortable? It’s such a fine line, between resetting to regulate and hiding behind regulation so you don’t have to stretch. And honestly, it’s one I’ve had to look at closely myself. When I started my healing journey, I swung hard into softness. I’d burnt out so badly that rest and regulation felt like the only way forward. I needed that season of gentleness. But somewhere along the way, I realised that “listening to my body” had started to become an excuse not to finish things. I’d convince myself it was intuition, or that I needed more time to feel ready. But underneath it, it was fear, fear of pressure, fear of failure, even fear of success. And that’s the thing no one talks about, avoidance can wear a spiritual disguise. It looks calm on the surface, but it’s still being driven by fear. Over time I started to understand that regulation isn’t about removing effort, it’s about creating the capacity to handle it. Rest doesn’t replace challenge. It prepares you for it. Running a business, raising a child, creating content, showing up, it all takes effort. Sometimes it takes showing up even when you don’t feel like it. That doesn’t mean abandoning your needs or pushing through pain. It just means recognising that growth often comes from those little moments where you’d rather not, but you do anyway. Now, when I notice resistance, I pause and ask myself: 👉 Is this exhaustion, or avoidance? 👉 Is this pause refilling me, or shrinking me? If it’s refilling me, I rest. If it’s shrinking me, I move, gently, but deliberately. I’ve also been working on reframing productivity. For so long, my brain linked “productive” with “burnout.” If I was being productive, I must be pushing too hard. But that’s not true. Productivity is just how we channel our energy when we actually have it. And real burnout doesn’t come from doing things, it comes from never switching off. From staying mentally stuck in our to-do list long after the work is done.

Creative Expression as a Spiritual Practice
Expressing your creativity is arguably the most spiritual thing you can do. If we’re children of The Creator, then our truest essence is creation also. It is to birth things into existence. To turn the formless into form. Like turning an idea into a written piece or filming a reel. Creativity is our lifeline to the divine. It is no wonder the first thing school does to our children is to strip them from all creative expression. Disconnecting them from their inner knowing and their divine power. One of our greatest acts of rebellion in this dystopian matrix we live in, is therefore to come back to this fundamental truth. It is to start expressing yourself and sharing your voice. It is to paint. To draw. To share. To bring life into the lifeless. To speak your unfiltered truth on social media, and in doing so, facing all the shadows that ever held you back from your full embodiment. That my friends, is the digital revolution. Now… I just put together a 3 step mini course. Part 1: Your Revolution Begins Part 2: The Brutal Reality of Change Part 3: The Digital Revolution In simple language, this mini course covers the journey of transforming shadows into power; seeing how your hidden wounds block your success, realizing your brand is a spiritual path, and turning social media into a sanctuary for truth. The clarity you will be left with after this course is profound. This mini-course is free to everyone who joins the 9 Day Challenge and INSTANTLY ACCESSIBLE as soon as you join. This will get your ready and prepared for the challenge pre-game starting October 27th. Click here to get access: https://www.newearthuni.com/live With love, Thor ❤️

From Healing to Living
This morning should’ve been chaos. My son was up before 5am, I was running on very little sleep, but I wasn’t stressed. I was calm. Grounded. Even peaceful. And that’s when it really landed for me, healing isn’t something I do anymore. It’s just how I live. When I first started this journey, it was all about nervous system regulation. Learning what safety felt like in my body. Building tools to calm myself when things felt too much. But over time, it’s evolved. Because the more I regulate, the more space I have, to think, to feel, to actually live. And that space has led me deeper into mindfulness and Buddhist teachings, especially the Eightfold Path. I’ve realised it’s not about trying to be “calm” or “positive” all the time. It’s about awareness. It’s about noticing what’s happening in the body, in the mind, and choosing to respond with love and understanding, even when it’s uncomfortable. I’ve been reflecting a lot lately on things like “right speech.” Not just in the literal sense, not lying or saying kind things, but really speaking from the heart. Being honest, not manipulative. Not using words to get approval or control outcomes, but to express truth with kindness. And honestly, that’s something I’ve been trying to bring into everything, even how I show up online. I’ve realised I’ve been shaping my content for the algorithm instead of speaking from my soul. Trying to make things fit what “works.” But from now on, I want to create differently. Less polished. Less planned. More from presence. Because mindfulness isn’t something you do for ten minutes a day, it’s something you are. You can’t have too much mindfulness, because the opposite is mindlessness. And we spend enough of our lives disconnected already. So, this new season for me isn’t about doing more. It’s about going deeper. Living what I teach. Being what I talk about, not just understanding it. From nervous system regulation, to mindfulness, to living the path. That’s where I am right now, learning to live my teachings instead of performing them.
