🔎 Tip #5 - Your first lines should answer one question: Is this for me?
This post is part of the Skool Discovery & Growth Boost Tips Series. My goal is simple - help Skool group owners get found, and turn more visitors into members. -- Your Cover Image earned the click. Now your About Page needs to confirm that the visitor is in the right place. I see this mistake quite often: “Welcome to our community…” Or: “Hi, I’m [Name], and I’ve been doing this for 15 years…” Nothing is wrong with either line. But neither helps a cold visitor recognize themselves. Your opening lines should quickly name the person you help and the situation they are in. For example: “For independent coaches who know their craft, but struggle to turn Skool conversations into consistent clients.” The right visitor can immediately think: “That’s me.” You can qualify people by: - their role - their current stage - the problem they are facing - the result they are trying to reach Specific does not always mean smaller. It means easier to recognize. A simple check 👇 Read the first two lines of your About Page and ask: Would my ideal member know within five seconds that this group is for them? When the answer is unclear, move the visitor closer to the opening - before your story, method, features, or credentials. Your About Page can explain everything else after the right person decides to keep reading. -- 🐬 Curious how well your About Page turns visitors into members? 👇 Comment AUDIT and I’ll run a free DFY audit of your About Page copy and visuals. I’ll share your score, the #1 conversion fix I’d make first, and a useful summary here in the thread - so you and other Skoolers can learn from the feedback too. Prefer private feedback? DM me AUDIT and I’ll send the same audit privately.

🔎 I thought this 100/100 About Page score was a mistake
This post is part of the Skool Discovery & Growth Boost Tips Series. My goal is simple - help Skool group owners get found and turn more visitors into members. -- When I first saw 100/100 on @Melanie Naumann Story-First Songwriting audit, my first reaction was not celebration. It was: “Something must be wrong.” Across hundreds of DFY and DIY About Page Audits (APA), very few pages have even come close to 80/100. So I checked the About Page again. Then the supporting visuals. Then every Copy and Visual criterion. I also double-checked the scoring logic inside the app to make sure the result wasn’t caused by an error. It wasn’t. Melanie’s page clearly covered all 15 areas currently measured by 🐬 APA: ✅ 60/60 for Copy ✅ 40/40 for Visuals Her audience is immediately clear. The frustration of guessing, getting stuck, and doubting whether the lyrics are good enough is easy to recognize. The final outcome is specific. Her Story-First Songwriting method explains how members move from ideas to music-ready lyrics. Her experience, deliverables, trial, pricing, and next step are all visible. The visuals continue the same story too. They show: ✅ the before-and-after journey ✅ the structured method ✅ what exists inside the Classroom ✅ a real member result ✅ the resources and support members receive ✅ a clear reason to take the next step But this needs an important clarification. 100/100 does not mean there is nothing left to improve. It means I could not find a missing foundation across the 15 things 🐬 APA currently checks. And I apply the same thinking to the audit itself. APA is not a finished product sitting on a shelf. I review every result, question anything that feels unusual, and improve the system as I learn from more real About Pages. What impressed me most is that Melanie’s result was not accidental. She has spent years developing the expertise behind the offer and continued refining how that value is presented.

Oh wow, thank you so much for the shoutout. 💚 And I must say, as someone who does her own audits (only for songs), I really appreciate the thought that went into all of this. I can see you have your own set of criteria, based on a lot of experience and pattern recognition. Both of those things are invaluable to build an understanding of what works and what does not. I've started out with roughly 35 criteria when I analyzed song lyrics, over the 7 years since I'm doing this, I now have 90 different content criteria because the more you immerse yourself in understanding how something works, the more you start noticing. And I can see that you've build your own system that gets tested with scores like this, making you ask yourself: What else is there to improve. For my part, I know I have to re-do my about page video and actually include myself (but I shot it on vacation and i don't have a good camera nor good lightning). So this screen-recording must do for now. As you already mentioned, coming up with bringing it all together, is really a craft in itself. Sometimes, you're just so in the weeds, that you can be blind to what a first-timer actually sees. So, I've done a lot of testing and rewrites, and new creatives, and getting your feedback means a lot! At the same time, this is nothing I could have cooked up so quickly or if I was new to my field. Everything, all the time, the effort, the work ... it slowly starts to pay off. So, that is amazing to finally feel like I've arrived and found my tribe 💚 As for my images, if that is of interest, here's what I did: I designed the layout in CANVA (see image below), just very basic. Then I uploaded in CANVA's Dream Lab. I said in the prompt: "Can you make this image more visually appealing? keep the dark blue background and the green highlight color, but everything else can be edited. text stay the same. if you add something in background, make it music related. must be readable. this is a video call, so if you can put the woman into a tablet and make it look like a video call (unbranded)."

Please Introduce Yourself
One of the most important things I've learned since becoming an online entrepreneur is that the most important thing you can do to grow your business is to build relationships. Many of us (myself included) have rushed to promote our groups and services that we care so deeply about. And it only makes sense - we are excited about what we are doing! Today, I'd like to invite you to take a step back and introduce yourself to the group by answering the following questions: 1. Who are you personally? 2. Who are you professionally? 3. What is something you love doing outside of work? 4. What is something surprising about you? As you open up and make more connections, you will find that not only are people more interested in what you do, but they will also be more interested in helping you make connections with other people they know! 😉 After you introduce yourself, please scroll through the other introductions and add a comment to someone you have something in common with or would like to know more about. 😊 Please add your introduction in the comments below! ⬇️

@Kortni Bolden Life is one big story with lots of mini-stories to tell. That's quite exciting, yes. =) Sometimes though, it feels like we're starting a therapy session, cuz writing from the heart to the heart requires to go to certain places internally, re-live certain emotions to be able to evoke the same feeling with the words. I see your community revolves around stories too. Is it for getting inspired, so that other moms can get to those desired places too?

@Faith Adebayo Yeah, Abel Tasman, that water. So beautiful. Did a multy day kayak tour there. Sleeping on the beach. Stars above and the milky way so clear to see. That was awesome. I loved Queenstown/Wanaka too, so many LOTR locations, the Remarkables, and golden fields with deep blue lakes
Do You Love Someone You Can Never Have?
If you are reading this, you probably know exactly what it feels like to secretly escape into your dreams of a better life - a life with him or her, who is, unfortunately, completely unaware of your feelings and even worse, perhaps doesn't even know you exist. Because that person is completely unreachable. You might know them from a TV series, social media, a movie or it's a fictional character in a book, but in your heart, you feel like they are the one for you. And so you are riding this emotional roller coaster, swinging wildly between euphoria and despair, hope and agonizing pain. Maybe you’ve spent a long time wondering if anyone could ever truly understand how exhausting that constant “What if…?” loop in your head really is. What if he/she would finally see me? What if I could meet them? What if ... I want you to take a deep breath and hear this: You are not alone with this immense longing in your heart. For a long time, the world hasn’t had a common language for this experience, which is why it can feel so isolating. But there is a word for it: Limerence. But hardly anyone talks about this kinda of love that feels so real, but instead of euphoria, it leaves you empty and with a deep, deep longing. Limerence is a state that pushes you into a painful gap between daydreaming and reality. It makes you feel like your happiness depends entirely on someone who might not even know you exist, or someone you only know through a screen. But here is the most important thing you need to know: This is not "unnormal". Limerence is nothing bad, even though it has been portrayed like this in lots of information spread across the internet or in books. While it can feel like a "trap", Limerence is actually a deeply human expression of your emotional depth. It is often an unconscious wake-up call from your own system. It actually shows you a path back to yourself. And what you are currently missing in your life. And it's not that one person. You are in love with the illusion of who they are and how they make you feel about yourself in your head.

It's all about the stories we tell ourselves! And the stories we make up. Storytelling is really powerful. Sounds like you know a lot about that yourself!
