Wether AI is used to help you promote your content, or it IS your content, I dont find it inherently bad. When I first found out about AI generating music I got worried...but quckly realised, there isn't much to worry about, as majority of people aren't interested to listening to AI music. The same goes for anything AI generated. So using it to save time and money is fine by me, even tho personally I try to not use it much, since the internet already feels pretty saturated with AI content...😄

@Andrew Hand Absolutely agree, it will eventually be indistinguishable from human made music...but human music will always remain human music... I dont see myself searching for the latest AI generated music on youtube to listen to, rather than listening to something my favourite composer created, no matter how good the AI music is... At the end of the day I only see it being massively used for projects where the music is an afterthought, the same way I would use AI to generate a thumbnail for my youtube video...
What was your last piece of music on repeat? I mean ON REPEAT!
Hey everyone, just curious about what track from a band or an artist have you listened on repeat during the last days. I don't mean like "Yes, this is a track I quite like" repeat. I am talking "why tf do I have to listen to this track whenever I can, even if it's in between breaks of making music and in the night I wake up because the chorus runs on repeat in my mind 24/7" repeat! I go first 😅

Focus Your Music Demo Reel: 5 Simple Steps to Land More Clients in the Audio Industry
Hey everyone, I hope your day started full of opportunities! Let me once more get into this topic because what I want is you guys succeeding out there in the audio business to find paid projects and making connections. It all comes down to your music obviously. However, this is not something special to write good music, it is a basic necessity. On the other end, a lot of music composers think that good music has to be near perfect. I have to disagree. The most important thing is to write solid music that makes your client happy. THAT'S. IT! Nothing else. Now, imagine you bought the most amazing present for your partner... but wrap it up in a few rugs. Not very attractive, isn't it? Now imagine your best music but it's hosted on public services with lots of distracting links or on a bloated website, featuring all kinds of styles and a bio that is longer than the dictionary. Let me give you a few easy things to keep in mind, so you have an almost unfair advantage to everyone else: 1. You need to change your mindset. Pick one target industry = design a demo reel for EXACTLY THIS target group. Imagine you walk into a restaurant and the guy telling you: "Hey, what do you want to eat? We got Asian food from every country, American burgers, original Italian pizza and pasta, the best sushi... each category features over 100 meals." Overwhelmed much? Probably! The same your clients feel when you send them your bloated website with hundreds of tracks or distracting links leading everywhere. 2. Make your demo reel as easy and short as possible. Use a logo at the top, have a picture banner that is drawing the attention of your picked target industry. 3. Use your best 5 tracks that are speaking to your target industry. There is no need to have the weirdest horror music on your demo reel if you want to send this to children's book authors! 4. I am serious with this point. Absolutely nobody is interested when you started playing piano, how many awards you have won, how many plugins you own or that you're always reliable. Everyone can write anything! Okay, at some point there is some trust involved, but focus on what benefits you can bring to the table FOR the company, instead of making this a personal spotlight fest. 5. If you don't have credits yet, create your own. If your music rocks, people will hire you. Period! However, in order to have some visual stuff going on, use one of your tracks, come up with a nice animated picture or use AI to create you a little video of 45-60 seconds. There are tons of tools out there turning pictures into short animations that you can then use to craft a little script... again, that speaks to your target audience.

Alex, when putting together a demo reel for trailer music, does it make sense for all the tracks to have a similar vibe, or should one track be epic, another one dark, and so on?

@Alex Pfeffer Got it. Thank you! 😄
The laziness of others is YOUR chance to succeed!
Hey guys, this post is a bit more spontaneous but it is getting more and more obvious after all this time working with music composers. Here are a few facts. People always complain how everything got more difficult, how this market got more and more saturated and that industry x is about to go down, etc. Yes, the internet makes lots of things possible and yes, there are only so many music composers out there and that many companies, producers and people that need music. ... and yes, things sometimes seem so overcrowded that it seems, all of this doesn't make any sense anymore. Here is the kicker. Just a tiny percentage of the people out there are willing to put in the work. Also when I say, "willing to put in the work" it doesn't mean writing as perfect music as possible. It is just a few simple things you need to be aware of: 1. Forget your bloated website and start setting up a demo reel targeting your key audience 2. Sell without selling, meaning, think long-term relationships instead of trying to make as much money as quick as possible. 3. Your music is worth nothing when your subject line and your email is not working. 4. Investing just 10-15 mins daily in (correct) networking is worth more than contacting 3-4 people and that's it for the month. 5. Regular content that can be created in masses in just an hour at the beginning of the month. Just wanted to point this out again. If you need help with this, my Audio Artist Rise Program is currently open with a seven day free trial. You can test it, participate the live calls, ask questions: https://www.skool.com/audio-artist-rise/about The sad truth? Almost everyone joining the Audio Artist Academy answered the questions for goals and struggles related to a problem finding paid projects. I also sent the news of the free trial out to 3000 people ... it resulted in three people signing up, one person sent questions, noone showed up in the live calls.

@Dave Graham Thanks Dave for the words of encouragment! It's just funny to me the closer I get to my goal the more I procrastinate. Which is a problem in itself I guess...and the thing you said about not even trying because they assume it's impossible. I remember being hesitant about posting something on youtube, but after recieving feedback, I never felt more motivated. So I guess JUST DO IT should be the motivator for most of us 😄
