Hiring
Will please delete is this isn’t allowed. I was hoping it was since I saw your other post. My company is hiring SQL/BI developers in Maharashtra, India. It’s a remote position but applicants must live in that area. We primarily have Fabric/Power BI engagements but also work with Snowflake, Databricks, and even Tableau. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4177103332/?trk=feed_main-feed-card_feed-job-posting-content

Field Parameters in Direct Lake Models
One of my team members sent a message this morning discussing the limitations of Direct Lake models. And one of the things he mentioned was that he didn't know how to add Field Parameters as the menu option doesn't existing in Service or when editing in desktop. I knew it could be done with Tabular editor, but we don't have access to that tool at this particular client. We learned today that you can use a notebook with the Semantic Link Labs library to add parameters. There are a ton of things you can do with semantic models with that library. And I highly suggest folks check out the GitHub repository for it. You will need to enable Read/Write on the XMLA endpoint first, though. This is done in the Admin Portal > Capacity Settings > select your capacity to get to the right menu for the option. It's set to Read by default. GitHub - microsoft/semantic-link-labs: Early access to new features for Microsoft Fabric's Semantic Link. Here is a fabric community page that talks about it How to create field parameters in Power BI DirectL... - Microsoft Fabric Community

@Elias Pena it still works for DirectLake mode for us after adding them via notebooks

@Elias Pena I apologize for the late replies. I have been ill. Glad you got it working.
Fabric Direct Lake to Import - Source is DW
We are creating our semantic model from a fabric data warehouse and defaults to Direct Lake. This option to change to import is greyed out. Have a tired a few ways to change but no luck and not sue what I am missing. We are wanting to import the data for speed, all data is day - 1 so nothing near real time is needed.

@Will Needham we've done it with notebooks using semantic link labs. worked like a charm. I haven't been able to get it to go from Import to Direct Lake yet though. I have my suspicions why that wasn't working the last time we tried it though.
DP700
Thanks to Will I passed my DP700 this morning. I found the exam challenging as it tests more hands on knowledge than theory unlike DP600

@Naveed Ahamed I had tried to open Learn while taking my DP600 exam and the whole thing crashed. So I am terrified to try it again lol. Glad it worked out for you. It's a great resource to have during the exam if you know how to be efficient and effective in your search. Congrats on passing the exam!
Power BI report connected to semantic model shows all measures as blank
I have a semantic model connected to a Fabric warehouse. I have created a Power BI report connected to that semantic model, but it shows all measures as blank. Is there any limitation to create a Power BI report connected to a semantic model whose data source is a warehouse?

I second what Antony said above. Import mode should work fine. Direct Lake will not.
