Vacation & Remote Policies
We are contemplating moving to an unlimited vacation policy as well as adding in a remote work component. Has anyone done this or have experience in it? Our Advisors operate this way now; however, the operations staff does not. The research says it's a positive for everyone. I would like to get real work information from someone. For example: a daughter/son is having a baby and the grandparent wants to either take time off or work remote. What things should we look at for policies? Does anyone have experience in this really working? Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you.

We moved to unlimited PTO for the entire office. You must be employed for one year to obtain this perk. Currently new hires receive 10 days after 90 days of service is completed. Work from home is approved on a discretionary basis. We have approved working from home for Thanksgiving week and Christmas week.

@Kate Guillen So far so good. No one has really abused the policy. I stick with my original 5 weeks and if I plan a trip to Europe than I would be taking more time. This policy is over a year now and it seems to be working. We just make sure that there is always coverage for Ops, Planners and CSAs. Things could change but for now we are still on the unlimited PTO. No one here has not abused it for sick time as well.

We have added renting out a movie theater and dugouts for baseball. We have not done anything else at the moment.

For our Texas Clients we have dugouts for Baseball with Food. For our Locals we rent out a movie theater and provide the snacks. When we have our annual or year end meetings we give the top tiered clients from $1MM to $5MM Swag. Our Christmas gifts have our logo on it so it counts as Marketing last year we did a pepper grinder and a cheese board.
