What do you do when you're in a slump?
Recently I've lost motivation when it comes to the daily run; it's been cold and I'm not a fan. So in my little mind I thought the best way to encourage the motivation to return was to sign up for a 12 hour event. Never run that far/long (have a few 50ks under my belt) but, here we go. There is work to do in the 25 weeks until the day. I want to drop 30ish pounds, learn to love (or at least tolerate) the gym, and get time on feet. But I'm pretty fired up and here for it. So what does anyone else to to break a slump? Especially this time of year.

That's one way to do it! Incredible stuff be sure to let us know how you get on
Long run too fast
Last Friday I was Jeffing in memory of Jeff Galloway. I'm not a habitual run walker, except on days my legs don't feel good, in which case I walk a minute every now and then. Last Friday my legs felt great and I did the running parts way too fast. After 80 minutes of that, I decided I could do 20 minutes of tempo on a hilly bit near my house. The result? Today my legs felt like bricks. I couldn't do anything else but Jeffing. Another example of me overdoing things when I feel good🫤

It took me so many years to learn from this mistake. Often when your legs feel good you just think to go for it. But you end up paying the price lol. When I feel good now I try to hold back so I can keep feeling good. And sometimes I go and blast my legs anyway
Who earned a medal over the weekend!
My son ran his first half marathon in under 2 hours! I ran the 8K at the Portland Shamrock run.
