Actively Seeking UK Acquisition Opportunities – Building Products Distribution (Southern England Preferred)
We’re currently working with a major international group that is exploring selective, high quality acquisition opportunities in the UK building products distribution space. If you’re a dealmaker, advisor, broker, corporate finance partner or industry insider, I’d welcome any introductions or off market opportunities that fit the criteria below. What we’re looking for: - UK based (with a preference for Southern England) - Distribution businesses only – no manufacturing - Sells into: • Social housing / housing associations • Local authorities • Maintenance & refurbishment contractors • Facilities management providers • General building, plumbing, bathroom, or kitchen products - Strong management team in place - Not distressed or turnaround situations - Suitable scale to complement an existing £40M UK revenue base Ideal profiles include: - Building products distributors with framework agreements - Plumbing & bathroom distribution businesses - Kitchen/joinery distribution businesses - Compliance related product suppliers (fire safety, ventilation, water systems, etc.) - Regional merchant networks with distribution hubs If you’re aware of any relevant businesses—or would be happy to make an introduction—I’d really appreciate it. All conversations are handled with absolute confidentiality. Feel free to message me directly here.

Noted will keep my ear to the ground. I have had a couple of people tell me just over chatting on calls in the last year that they are retiring out. One has gone and the other is probably too small, however both fit the profile in terms of market sector. Feel free to DM minimum size of business they are looking for. I can maybe deal scout if something comes across my path organically.

Most business owners we approach aren’t ready to sell, and that’s completely normal.
Most business owners we approach aren’t ready to sell, and that’s completely normal. But something interesting has happened over the past year… Many of those same owners later came back to us not to sell to us but to get structured sell-side support to maximise their valuation and create a competitive buyer environment. So we formalised a Sell-Side Advisory Program designed for founders who want to: ✔ Control the process ✔ Position their business for a premium valuation ✔ Attract strategic (not just financial) buyers ✔ Create competition to drive offers up ✔ Achieve a strategic exit — not a transactional one And we’ve backed it with a performance guarantee: 👉 5 qualified offers within 12 months — or we continue working free. Recent outcomes: Construction firm — 5 offers, 28% above broker appraisal Marketing agency — 5 offers in 10 weeks, sold to UK PE Engineering services — exit in 8 months, 80% cash at completion If you’re thinking about valuation, timing, or positioning even 12–24 months out — I’m happy to share a snapshot of how the process works. Just comment “Checklist” and I’ll send you the 10-point Exit Readiness Checklist. 📘 My book “Built to Sell Well” covers how to prepare early so you exit on your terms: https://mybook.to/builttosellwell

What platform are you currently using for their SOPs? I have created a private wordpress website for mine so it can have whatever visual appearance and features I want but I don't know what others are using.
UK Based?
Who here is UK based? Always nice to talk to people face to face. First stage is understanding who is local?

@Adrian Sheridan welcome
How I’ve Sourced 1,000+ Acquisition Opportunities Without Brokers — The Real Art of Finding Deals Before Anyone Else
Most dealmakers spend all their time learning how to close… but forget the part that actually creates deals — sourcing. In the past 15 years, I’ve completed over 100 acquisitions across 12 countries. Only three of those came from brokers. The rest came from a disciplined, repeatable sourcing system I’ve built — one that now consistently generates qualified, fundable, direct-to-owner opportunities every single week. I’ve written a new short guide that breaks down the exact process: How to define your target filters and build lists that actually convert. The personalised outreach method that gets a 25%+ response rate. How to read owner psychology and spot the real motivations to sell. The system I use (and teach our JV partners) to keep deal flow consistent month after month. If you want a copy, comment “sourcing strategy” below and I’ll send it to you directly. No fluff. No theory. Just the exact method that’s produced 1,000+ qualified leads and multiple closed deals this year alone.

Welcome to the Community
Welcome to the Community. To get the most out of being a member follow these 2 steps: 1. Watch this short introduction video about how we work with people on a joint venture basis. https://buybuildsellprogram.com 2. Introduce yourself to the community and let the community know what you would like to know or if you have any challenges in finding and doing deals what they are so we and the community can help. 3. I have written a book called Leveraged Buyouts - Having been involved in M&A for 20 + years I decided to write a book sharing step by step how to use a leveraged buyout structure to acquire multi £/$ companies. In it I cover: How to source acquisitions direct to business owner; What to say in first & subsequent meetings; Objection handling; How to analyse financial statements and craft a deal; How to present an offer; Process from offer acceptance to completion including due diligence, legals & raising funding for your deal; How to grow it and successfully exit. You can pick up a copy from https://buybuildsellprogram.com/book or available in Audible, Paperback, Kindle on Amazon.If you like it I would be very grateful for a 5* review. Welcome!

Hi All I am really happy to be here and read your stories. This is the first time I have popped my head out of the grind to find community for a while but I have been missing it. I am currently in the UK and like many solo/entrepreneurs I have lived several lives over the years. I won't bore you with the full list but it has allowed me to accumulate a very varied skill stack from web dev, interactive, sales, branding, processes, systems, knowing and analysing business and marketing models, digital project scoping and management, conversion enhancement, B2B sales, SOP creation, enhanced customer service and client management, media/image creation and editing, international business, presentation and now it is time to learn M&A. I have been studying the subject casually in my spare time for a while now and taking notes, but I am still nibbling around the edges. Preparing, learning, watching, soaking it all in. Looking for the trapdoors and mirages. If it were a pizza I would still be on the crust, maybe about to hit sauce but nowhere near cheese yet! Looking to contribute where possible, meet other freaks like me who just can't stop thinking about business, learn, connect with you, connect you with others, help and hear/watch some interesting stories. I look forward to spending time at this watering hole with you and I hope you have an amazing day wherever you are.
