Preparing my path to Senior. Any suggestion?
Hello! I am a frontend engineer with nearly 2 years of experience. I recently took the technical assessment, and the results revealed significant gaps in my knowledge of software architecture, software lifecycle, and algorithms. I am now contemplating how to organize myself to reach a consistently senior level. I would greatly appreciate any help or insight in understanding which areas I should prioritize for improvement and any resources you may recommend for these areas. Wishing you a fantastic start to the week!

I would ramp up UI skills to the top, then front-end architecture and CI/CD. The resources depend on your tech stack, for React I think the best is EpicReact and FrontendMasters for the rest and quick read bunch of articles on different approaches to architecture, because it is not set in stone. ChatGPT can help to give an overview, but don't trust the details. For CI/CD I can recommend Continuous Delivery channel.

Hi, I'm Lenka from Czech republic, I have 8 years of experience as front-end dev. I work in full-stack role in Angular and .NET right now, but I'm reconsidering my tech stack since I'd like to join some cool US startup or medium-sized company and they all seem to run on MERN stack. So I'm here to get more information about the stack change and also improving myself in topics beyond full-stack (mainly DSA). It would also be great to connect with like-minded devs :)

@Petya Vitova Buchkova Hi Petya, greetings from Prague 👋
Failing easy tech interview
Hello everyone Just wanted to share, I am pretty much 99 % sure that I failed one of the easiest tech interview. I still feel stupid, frozen and stumble during live sessions even if I have to touch my tech assignment code and do some modifications that are asked by company guys. Some kind of fog in my brain and looks like I am a random guy that never dealt with tech world before. I really feel ashamed that after 5 years of experience nothing has changed when it comes to such moments. Have anyone experienced that?

Hi, it is completely normal, it just takes interview practice (also mock interview can be used). It's not very usual situation for us developers to be under such pressure.
Technical assessment results
I'm kind of happy with the results 66,86% since I haven't studied anything outside full-stack in-depth. Code Quality is little disappointing, I do write tests, but don't know much of the terminology, because I'm more practical person. Algorithms - I think I don't deserve 60% here since here I now mostly only the theory. It seems like that for the next level I will need to study a lot of theoretical stuff and practice algorithms. If you know some fun way how to study algos, please share, I always get stuck when I cannot come up with solution on time few times in a row and then I give up for some time.

"what is your current salary" interview question
Hey, I was coming to the monthly call but now I can't make it. My biggest question from my current job search is how to handle the "what is your current salary" question? It came up again today and I don't know what the impact of it might be in terms of putting a limit on the salary they would offer me? Should I be honest? Is the question even legal? Can it be checked? Anyone got any advice on this?

I usually say, that it's private information. And what my expected salary range is.

@Jeff Johnson I always thought this is only negotiation tactics, but you're right, we don't know right away what we will be required to do and if it suits our career path.
