𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝘆𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗱 & 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝘆𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗷𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Bromine is a halide that competes directly with iodine for thyroid receptors. In the absence of adequate iodine, bromine takes over these receptors, blocking thyroid hormone production and causing hypothyroidism, weight gain, and metabolic dysfunction.
