😭 Some places drain you on contact.
You walk in and feel it immediately. Heavy. Tense. Off... That’s not imagination — it’s information. Your nervous system is constantly scanning for safety. When a space drains you, it’s because your body is working overtime to stay regulated. This isn’t about being dramatic or “sensitive.” It’s about awareness. Today’s practice isn’t to judge or fix anything. It’s to notice. 🎯 Your mission: Pay attention to one place, situation, or environment that leaves you feeling depleted afterward. Ask yourself: • Did my breath change? • Did my body tense? • Did I feel relief when I left? That data matters. 💬 Comment if you want to lock it in: What kind of space drains you the fastest — loud, rushed, emotionally heavy, or chaotic? Protecting your energy starts with believing what your body tells you the first time.

This is so true! I was invited to play with a game with a friend and it was going to be just her and I. Then at the last minute she invited a third person which is also my friend but the two of them together are super toxic and energy draining. So I people-pleased at first and said, "sure!" Then as the day went on the thought of being there just drained me and I would have to sit and wait until they played and then I would play the winner and that's not what I had in mind. So I texted the person and told them how I felt. I explained how I've told both of them that I want to just see them one-on-one not together. I told the person who I was originally going to have plans with that. I told her also that I felt like I wasn't enough so you had to invite someone else. There's a long history of this behavior from her and I've distanced myself for almost a year and recently tried to see if there was anything there. There isn't, there's just energy draining and now I am officially done! It feels uncomfortable and awkward, but I'm so glad I did it and I know I will be much freer in the future from situations like this! Yay!!!

Be honest — are you tired from your life… or from carrying everyone else’s emotions?
Other people’s stress. Other people’s moods. Other people’s chaos. Your body doesn’t know whose feelings they are — it just carries the weight. That’s why you’re exhausted. Today’s practice: Notice one emotion that isn’t yours… and put it down. 🎯 Comment to lock it in: • What did you stop carrying today? • Where do you feel emotional weight in your body? You can care without collapsing. That’s real self-protection.

@Amanda Olejarz when I hear it coming I give my attention and empathy and then a protective wall goes up to not absorb it. The book Energy Vampires really helped me. It's not perfect but it's so much better!
