Build an Excel Model in Minutes… Then Turn It Into an App 🤯
Most accountants use spreadsheets every day. But what if AI could build the spreadsheet for you in minutes… and then turn it into a fully working app? That’s exactly what I show in this new video. In the example, I built a debt repayment calculator that helps clients see how different strategies (like snowball vs avalanche) affect how quickly they can get out of debt. Here’s what you’ll discover in the video: • How AI can generate a complete Excel model with formulas and calculations in minutes • Why choosing the right AI tool for the job makes a huge difference • How a simple spreadsheet can be transformed into an interactive client app with charts, sliders, and dashboards This is a great example of how accountants can move beyond spreadsheets and start building tools that deliver real advisory value to clients. Excel Models with Claude 👇 Watch the video below If you find it useful, please like the video and leave a comment on YouTube. It really helps the channel reach more accountants who want to learn how to use AI effectively. And I’m curious… What Excel spreadsheets do you use most in your work today? Tell me in the comments. I may use your ideas in a future video showing how to turn them into apps.

Yes when I first discovered Lovable, I did that, I used up all my credits because I took all the spreadsheets I had an turned them into apps. I was so fascinated but now that has been tremendously helping with the apps I built that supports my CFO clients.
🔥 Why the Anthropic vs U.S. Government Story Matters to the AI Community
You may have seen a lot of discussion online about Anthropic, Claude, the U.S. government and OpenAI — and not all of it is clear or accurate. Here’s a concise summary of what’s been happening, why it’s significant, and a chance to hear your view. 📌 What triggered the dispute Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) demanded that Anthropic grant unrestricted access to its Claude AI for military use, including lawful purposes that could include domestic surveillance or autonomous weapons deployment. Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, refused, citing ethical guardrails the company has built into its AI — especially prohibitions on mass surveillance and fully autonomous weapons without human oversight. When Anthropic stood firm, the Pentagon threatened to cancel a significant contract (≈ $200 million) and label the company a “supply chain risk.” Shortly thereafter, President Trump directed all U.S. federal agencies to stop using Anthropic’s AI technology, citing national security concerns. Anthropic has publicly stated it plans to challenge the “supply chain risk” designation in court and maintain its ethical stance. CEO Amodei characterised his decision not to relent as compatible with defending democratic values — even if it means falling out with government authorities. Meanwhile, OpenAI struck a separate deal with the Pentagon to supply AI for classified military networks, which some commentators believe reflects a different approach to the same set of ethical red lines. 🤔 Why this matters for anyone using AI tools This isn’t just about military contracts — it highlights key tensions in our industry: 1. AI ethics vs. use case pressureCompanies are being pushed to bend their internal safety guardrails in the face of external expectations about how their AI should be used. The Anthropic standoff shows how far a company might go to stick to its principles — and the real consequences when it does. 2. Competition and positioningAnthropic is also promoting easier switching to Claude, even offering tools to import chat histories — part of a broader strategy to attract users amid the controversy.

I am already using Claude and find that I enjoy it much better than ChatGPT. This issues does open some questions in my mind about AI governance and what we are facing as we continue down this AI pathway. I think government should only intervene when it poses a serious threat and seems to harm individuals in some way. I don't know if government oversight is needed or is as necessary. Of course there will always be companies/people who will try to use their technology, power and positions in a negative aspect without regard for others and those are the times when government is necessary but half the time they don't step in then because of their favored relationships with a lot of big players. Just my thoughts and opinions, don't shoot the messenger.

@Mark Wickersham We had this same issue many, many years ago when certain aspects of the Internet were questioned. I am dating myself here but this something we have seen before and eventually the legal system was forced to become involve because government did not want to touch it initially.

🆕 New ChatGPT Feature: You Can Now Interrupt Long Queries
OpenAI has just rolled out a really useful update — and it’s one that’ll save you a lot of time when working on big, complex tasks. You can now interrupt long-running queries (like deep research or GPT-5 Pro reasoning) without losing progress. 💡 For example… imagine you’re asking ChatGPT to research the perfect bookshelf. Halfway through, you remember your wall is only 72" wide and you can’t drill into it. Instead of restarting, you can now click “Update” in the sidebar, add your new info, and ChatGPT will instantly adjust its answer. It’s a small change, but a really smart one — especially for anyone who uses deep research, business analysis, or long-running prompts. 👉 Have you noticed this feature yet? How do you think it’ll help your workflow?

Oh no, I haven't noticed that but I also haven't researched anything lately using long-running queries but I can definitely remember several times that I have needed that and had to start over. That will be extremely helpful. Thanks
🧠 New ChatGPT Update: Personality & Instructions Now Apply Instantly
OpenAI just rolled out a small but really helpful change. Until now, if you updated your ChatGPT personality or custom instructions, those changes only applied to new conversations. Starting today, your updates are applied immediately across all chats — even existing ones! 🎉 That means your tone, preferences, and custom setup stay consistent everywhere… no need to start a new thread just to make it work. 👉 Have you tested this yet? Do you use custom instructions to make ChatGPT sound more like you?

Thanks for sharing this. I don't currently use custom instructions but I guess I need to get into the training and learn how to do that. Thanks for sharing that.
