OpenAI has just rolled out a really useful update — and it’s one that’ll save you a lot of time when working on big, complex tasks.

You can now interrupt long-running queries (like deep research or GPT-5 Pro reasoning) without losing progress.

💡 For example… imagine you’re asking ChatGPT to research the perfect bookshelf. Halfway through, you remember your wall is only 72" wide and you can’t drill into it. Instead of restarting, you can now click “Update” in the sidebar, add your new info, and ChatGPT will instantly adjust its answer.

It’s a small change, but a really smart one — especially for anyone who uses deep research, business analysis, or long-running prompts.
