What a tool!
Anyone using a tool or software for your business you truly consider indispensable? Doesn't have to be revolutionary or bleeding-edge AI tech, just something you'd be lost without. Let's hear 'em...

Definitely Canva which I see you've already mentioned. I've also found Descript a very useful tool which I've been using for around 4 years now. I discovered it in the early days of producing/editing the podcast I manage and it's a great tool for editing and producing text transcripts. It works with either audio only or video and has some excellent inbuilt tools including an eye contact correction feature where the AI will adjust so your eyes make contact if looking down etc.

@Nick Bandy I've never used or seen Capcut so I am unable to comment on this. What is good about Descript is that it transcribes the content first, so the edit can be accomplished from the text transcript directly. Does this make sense? I'm not sure how well I'm explaining this! 😁
The Upwork Thread
A lot of you have been asking about Upwork specifically, and while this group is not about 'how to win clients on Upwork,' I think there IS a place in this world for Upwork discussion that isn't the hive of negativity formerly known as Reddit. So...here you go! Have at it. What's working for you right now? What isn't?

@Naiya Cassidy I've found my efforts in the web space much the same to date. It's evident to me from comments in the listings, that postings are inundated with a lot of rubbish responses and AI crap. When you see listings which have been up for 15 minutes with 50 proposals you know there's stuff going on! 😄I picked up many great tips from Nick's Upwork products and will probably revisit Upwork in the new year. As Nick said, those posting jobs face a lot of timewasters, making the use of pattern interrupts etc. extremely important.
Are you slacking off til January?
Be honest, are you? Last year after my daughter was born in November, I remember it was BRUTAL trying to get anything going with new clients. Then in January, it was like someone turned the 💡 back on. My main client right now has a big dip every year in December too, even though there's REALLY no reason for this industry to have seasonality. It's not like we're installing pools or something. Me personally? I'm doubling down while everyone else is half asleep. I have products to finish, a new outreach system to test, an email list and a group to build... I'd rather be a month ahead than a month behind once January hits. What about you? 🤔 Do you consider December 'lost,' or do you double-down while everyone else slacks off?

Definitely not here, although I don't celebrate Christmas so it's just another day. 😄 I'm aiming for my Facebook advertising to have progressed beyond the learning phase (getting close now!) and that I'll be into my conversion campaign phase by then.
‼️ Your favorite bribe?
Couple days ago I asked what it would take for YOU to help promote this group. I made a CLASSIC mistake: Asking an open-ended question. Don't be like Nick. So tell me...which of these bribes would you prefer? If NONE of these...SOMEHOW...appeal to you, then tell me what would get you on board in the comments below.

@Paul MacLeod I was in Clarence Street for 9 months during 2014-15 near Henderson Row.

@Paul MacLeod It was near the corner of Henderson Row. I seem to recall it being referred to as a flat. We were staying with my partner's father who sadly passed away just after we returned to Australia. They lived in Cannonmills before that.
