Your Replies Come Back When These 3 Are Fixed ✅
If your cold emails are dead… it’s usually not ONE problem. Most of the time, it’s three layers failing at once. Most people look at deliverability like a switch. Reality is… when things are really broken, it’s a stack of issues working together to kill your emails before they ever get a fair shot. If you want top-notch deliverability, you have to fix all 3 layers 👇 1) The Technical Layer If this part is broken, nothing else matters. Here’s what needs to be perfect: - SPF set up correctly - DKIM properly configured (email signature) - DMARC in place (tells inbox providers how to treat your mail) - Clean domain with sending history - Gradual warmup before sending real volume If you’re blasting 200 emails/day from a fresh domain with no auth records… you’re basically waving a red flag to every spam filter. 2) The Copy + Pattern Layer Spam filters don’t just look at your DNS anymore. They look at behavior + patterns inside your emails. Things that instantly hurt you: - Same email sent to everyone - Generic greetings (“Dear Sir/Madam” type energy) - Obvious sales tone in the first line - Repetitive phrases across hundreds of emails - Links + tracking in first touch - No personalization or context Modern filters watch engagement. If people don’t open, don’t reply, or ignore you… the system learns fast and starts routing everything to spam. 3) The Human Layer This is the part most people ignore. Your recipients are actively training spam filters against you. When your email feels lazy or irrelevant: They don’t unsubscribe They don’t reply They click "Report Spam” (one click, zero effort) That single action damages your domain reputation across networks. To get back to high inbox placement, you need to fix all 3 layers together: - Lock your DNS + infrastructure - Warm up properly before scaling - Send clean, text-first emails - Personalize based on real signals (industry, role, situation) - Avoid repeating the same phrasing at scale - Remove unnecessary tracking + fingerprints - Keep volume controlled per inbox - Protect your domain from spam complaints at all costs
