@Chad Peplinski Cool man, I’ve always wanted to do that—put them on the wall—but in my city that’s just impossible jaja. Check it out. By the way, you’ve got a beautiful collection there. That OD axe is just a beautiful piece of art!"
Best 80's music?
For whatever reason I've always loved music from the 80's, most of it not really guitar related. There's just this vibe to it that's not there in other decades (in my opinion obviously). I'm born in 1978 so most of the music I was exposed to when younger was from my two older brothers, everything from Ozzy to the Rocky IV soundtrack and the barrage of Jean Claud Van Damme movies😁 Anyway, just wanted to see if there are other 80's nerds in here and what your favourites are.

In my opinion, the 80s were the new “romanticism.” Just kidding, but what I mean is that it was a period when truly great music was made and very powerful movements emerged. I’m talking about glam, metal, rock, jazz-pop, and more. Personally, I consider metal to be my main music style, but I also love glam and a lot of other music from the 80s. Just to mention a few artists: 1. Michael Jackson - "Thriller" 2. Prince - "Purple Rain" 3. a-ha - "Take On Me" 4. TOTO - "Africa" 5. Cyndi Lauper - "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" 6. Madonna - "Crazy For You" 7. Bonnie Tyler - "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" 8. Miki Matsubara - "Stay With Me"
What do you love doing outside of music?
We all know we’re here because we love to play guitar, but what other things are you into? I’ll list a few things that I like to do to start things off Working out I lift and run pretty much daily. Then we have the dog walks of course. MMA I used to do some Karate and Judo back in the day but now I settle for watching the UFC. I rather crack a beer and watch other grown ups smack each other around😁 Movies & Series I love finding a new series to binge with the wife, we’re out of stuff to watch now so we’re currently rewatching The Sopranos. I also read a lot, both fiction and non-fiction and once GTA VI or the next Elder Scrolls game is out I’ll pick up the controller again. Enough about me, what about you?

Love reading everyone’s posts, and thanks for sharing! A little about me: Besides the guitar, which is one of my biggest passions, I also enjoy other things like: Gaming: From the age of 15 to 25, I played semi-professional gaming in many shooters like CS, Quake, and Overwatch. I used to lead an Esports team in my country—not as a player, but as a captain. I coached new members and assisted them in competitions. Nowadays, I’m still in the gaming scene just for fun. Lately, I’ve been really into Battlefield 6. If any of you are gonna play, just let me know and we’ll dive in together :) Anime: I'm just a big guy who loves watching anime. Books: If the guitar is my biggest passion, then books and reading come second. I enjoy Russian literature, like Dostoevsky and Tolstoy, as well as books on philosophy, physics, novels, and more. Music: I'm a true melomaniac and I enjoy Hi-Fi music. Besides metal, I also love jazz, classical music, and popular music from my country. I really enjoy African music too, like soukous. IT Nerd: I love working on in-house projects that involve IT—servers, firewalls, coding. These days, I’m especially into AI and developing projects with it. Basketball: About a decade ago, I used to play semi-professional basketball. Now it’s a sport I try to practice whenever I can. Fatherhood: I work 8–9 hours a day, spend about 2–3 hours on my hobbies, and the rest of my time is happily devoted to a little person—my greatest passion, being a dad.
Long flight home - ask me anything
Sitting here for the next 10 hours or so. If you have any questions fire away, can be literally anything😊 (I'm home now finally! I'll keep this thread open for a bit longer anyway in case you have more questions)

After your years as a guitar teacher/coach to many students around the world, from all levels, what would be that one piece of advice you'd give to someone who plays guitar — whether they're a beginner or an expert — but is truly committed to the instrument?
Headphone recommendations for practice
Due to living in an apartment block, playing through my amp is difficult at the times I can practice, so I have to use headphones. Unfortunately my Sennheiser Momentum 2 headphones make my ears warm up after only a short while so I'm looking for suggestions from those in the know. :D

I used to use the Beyerdynamic DT770 — they're just excellent headphones. They broke after 5 years of intense use. So, when looking for a replacement, a friend of mine recommended some in-ear from the brand Salnotes. I ended up buying the 7Hz Salnotes Zero. They're perfect: great sound, solid build quality, extremely comfortable, and very affordable.
