We're Conducting a Study & Need Your Support!
We are excited to share that we’re about to begin a research study exploring how breathwork can support individuals living with Somatic Symptom Disorder (SSD). We’re looking for adults (18–65, based in the UK) who may be experiencing ongoing physical symptoms—like fatigue, pain, or shortness of breath—that can’t fully be explained by medical tests, and who would like to take part in a one-month online breathwork program as part of Bal's PhD study. The study includes: - A 10-minute daily guided breathwork audio. - Weekly online group sessions led by a practitioner. - Before and after questionnaires to assess progress. Everything is online, voluntary, and confidential — and participants can join from anywhere in the UK. If you know anyone who might benefit or be interested, we’d be deeply grateful if you could share our flyer in your networks or communities. Every share helps us reach people who could truly benefit from this research. Thank you for helping us bring more understanding, care, and evidence-based awareness to the power of breathwork. With gratitude, Bal & @Dr. Samir Mujagic | Soma+IQ

When my Dad passed and the ensuing physical assault by my sister and narcissistic discard after that I did have moments where I felt suffocated and my breath would hitch or double intake without conscious thought to breath like that. I had no idea it had a name. Please when the study is finished post the results in the community.

@S B as a former both sahm and hs utilize the post bedtime or pre-kids up routine. That time you usually stay up for me time is the perfect "me time". or ask Dad or a girlfriend to handle it by taking out for a morning in park or afternoon what ever works where they can make memories (even just a picnic lunch they can take along-prepacked of course) will give you a chance to do 30 min reset. I was a army Family Rediness Leader and have all kinds of coping info for married "single" moms. Contact me if you want :) best wishes
Module 3: Co-Regulation & Nervous System Communication
📝 Share Your #1 Take-Away Below! If you consider yourself an empath and spend a lot of time around a dysregulated person, you might start feeling like their stress is your own. Many connect over their stressors or traumas, discussing the latest distressing news as a way to bond. But this is co-dysregulation. As a practitioner of this work, co-regulation is foundational and is one of the most crucial topics and skill sets for humans to learn is co-regulation. Co-regulation is all about how your electrical bubble, your nervous system, interacts with another's nervous system. When we spend time with someone with a regulated nervous system, we start to co-regulate with them, finding balance without saying a word. Conversely, if someone's dysregulated and we spend time with them, we might start to feel dysregulated ourselves. We discuss this in this video.

@Susana Carvajal I had only boys too and some days it’s mom wins just keeping them alive. They are now 18 and 22 and doing well in college. Yeah I wish I knew how to conregulate and breathwork when they would come home from school a hot mess. Big physical movement daily after school helped stop a lot of the sibling throw downs. Being out side and jumping on the trampoline helped a lot.

@Sharon Eland thank you...its still processing and just lovely that a lifetime of memories gets opened up so probably a lifetime of healing too. I created my own ceremonies and do things in honor such as zip lining, white water rafting and this weekend hot air balloon ride if weather is ok. I won't sit and wait for death to show up.
Breathwork and autism: dementia
I met a psychiatrist that was interested in breathwork for an autistic teen. Has anyone done this? I’m familiar w working with autistic people due to mneme therapy certification but looking for some feedback on IRL experiences

Clarification: I have worked with persons diagnosed with asd and dementia but not done breathwork with anyone having that diagnosis. I'm exploring if anyone has and how that has gone. Or even if it is contraindicated.
New beginnings
Looking forward to learning breathwork that really makes a difference
