Great story!
Ice Supply
Hey everyone, We are two events in and having a blast! First event was 2 hours and we sold 100 drinks, second event was 3 hours and we sold over 120. The main thing that keeps getting close and almost running out is ice. For a smaller event, I can take about 120lbs of ice with my three coolers no problem. If we were to do a large festival where we needed hundreds of pounds, I'm trying to figure out how to manage that. I have cheaper walmart coolers, so I also lose some to melting with us constantly opening and closing the cooler. Usually for community events, ice is around the corner, but I'm curious how you all handle needing hundreds of pounds of ice. I've seen some of Ben's posts, but don't know if we'll be able to get access to a plug in cooler or not. I've thought about renting the large coolers from a party rental company. I don't mind investing in them, but also they take up a bunch of space in my garage! Also, we're still in a pop up tent, so a lot of hauling and moving things around. I appreciate any insight!

I rent ice merchandisers for my large events. There are two men in my area that have them for rent. They are fastened to a trailer. I pick them up or have them delivered and then I fill them with ice a day before the big event. The last big event I did was in September. I went through 100, 20lb bags of ice in two days. The ice merchandiser was a life saver. I have thought about buying one and mounting it on my trailer to have for my big events, but I can’t justify the cost of the ice merchandiser at this point.
Great price on a generator
I have two Predator (3500 Super Quiet) generators. They have performed well over the last three years. The Predator 5000 is on sale at Harbor Freight this weekend, great price. If you need a generator, I recommend the Predator.

@Lyman Robertson yes. Their warranty is very reasonable and customer service is unmatched.
Why I Bought an Ice Machine
My cost on ice last year was ~$900 on ice alone. This year so far is ~$1500. This amount was 98% 20lb bags at $3.88 a piece. It was all purchased tax exempt. Considering the time it cost alone to get ice from my normal store, driving there and sometimes wasting for them to fill the machine or get me the ice or of the back- it was a grocery store, I decided to look at ice makers. I started searching for an ice machine in this combined range of $2500-$3000. I found on VEVOR that I could buy a machine that would make 360lbs a day and hold 300lbs in the chest for $1000. I bought this brand because all the ones on Webstaurant were twice the price and all had awful reviews. I'm setting it up now and will post updates. By this time next year it should have more than paid for itself!

@Michael Wood this is THE reason why I opted not to buy one. We had one at our church, and it was a pain (and expensive) to keep up with maintenance.

We did a taste test in our family (15 participants) with four canned chilis. Hormel, no beans, won hands down.

My name is Jim. I have been a lemon shake up vendor for four years, and I just bought a hot dog cart.
