Pricing Tiers and Other Inquires
Hey everyone — I’m getting started in headlight restoration and trying to dial in my pricing and service structure. I’d really appreciate some insight from those of you with more experience. How are you all setting up your pricing tiers? For example, do you offer different levels based on products/techniques (basic polish vs UV coating vs ceramic/PPF), and how do you price each tier? Also curious how you handle warranties — do you adjust warranty length depending on the process or products used? Is there such a thing as a “lower-tier” service that doesn’t last as long, or is that something you avoid offering altogether? Do any of you intentionally offer shorter-term options for customers on a budget? A few more specific questions: - Does anyone here use PPF for headlights? - Can PPF be applied over a UV coating, or is it one or the other? - Has anyone used steam restoration methods, and how does the longevity compare to UV sealants or ceramic coatings? Just trying to learn what’s working in the real world and build a solid, honest service. Appreciate any advice 🤙

Enjoying the warmer weather in Boise
The last few weeks have been rainy/windy. As the weather warms up, I'm doing more and more headlights. I do have vapor, so I have been able to do a bunch even in the rain, however it's much quicker using stay clear on a nice day. Today, I did 5 vehicles. 4 restorations and 1 new car ceramic. Stay motivated and keep working hard everyone!

Your post is relevant to me because I'm starting up business in rainy Hawaii. It's been raining for two weeks straight. You're saying you can do vapor even on rainy days? Does it need to be dry when you apply it? How long does it last compared to UV coating? Would vapor be considered a lower tier option compared to UV?
Flyer advice
Hope everyone is doing well. I have a flyer here that I want to get feedback on. If anyone can help me out and give me a few pointers on how to make it better I’d really appreciate it.
Flyer advice
Hey Michael, I use Chat GPT for most things these days. I asked how it would improve your flyer. Feel free to use this flyer I had it create on your behalf. Aloha. 🔥 Improved Flyer Layout (Clean + High-Converting) TOP SECTION (HOOK) Big, bold headline: Foggy Headlights? Drive Safer Tonight. (Short, emotional, benefit-driven. Not a question—this hits harder.) BEFORE → AFTER STRIP (VERY IMPORTANT) Put 2–3 before/after images side-by-side across the width. Add a small label: Real Results. 30–60 Minutes. CENTER SECTION (TRUST + BRAND) Put your LOGO centered and slightly smaller than before Under it: Professional Headlight Restoration Then: ⭐ Veteran Owned (keep if true) ✔ Restore clarity ✔ Improve nighttime visibility ✔ Extend headlight life PHOTO + PERSONAL TOUCH (LEFT SIDE) Use the same photo of the man, but frame it cleaner (circle crop works great). Add: Hi, I’m [Name] Local mobile service — I come to you. This is HUGE. People trust faces more than logos. QR CODE SECTION (RIGHT SIDE — CLEAN + CLEAR CTA) Make this section super obvious: Above QR: 📲 Scan for Instant Quote Below QR: Takes 30 seconds (“QR Code” text is weak—this gives a reason to scan.) LOCATION + OFFER (MIDDLE/BOTTOM) Instead of the scattered text: Serving Clarksville & Surrounding Areas Then add a simple offer: 💥 Intro Price Available – Ask When You Scan BOTTOM (FINAL CONVERSION PUSH) Use your best AFTER photo again (clean and shiny) Text over it: Make Your Car Look New Again 💡 Design Fixes That Will Make It Look Pro Use only 2 fonts max Add more spacing (right now it’s cramped) Stick to 2–3 colors (blue/white/black works great with your logo) Align everything to a grid (no floating text blobs) Remove random phrases like “Scan the / QR Code / to get / an Estimate” — combine into one strong line 💥 Why This Version Wins Clear message in 2 seconds Strong emotional hook (safety + appearance) Personal trust (face + name) Simple action (scan = quote) Less clutter = more conversions

2nd Restoration
Finally got my second set done. This is my daughter's car. They were in embarrassingly horrible shape so I couldn't wait to get them cleaned up for her. I learned several good things on these: 1. I started with 800 grit and it wasn't cutting it. I didn't have 600, but I did have 400 so I went there and it worked. 2. I also learned that 400 leaves some good scratches that I thought I had eliminated, but after finishing with 4000, I could still see them. 3.I learned that going back and resending them through all the grits isn't that big a deal and the results were much better. 4.I learned that these little discs don't really last more than 1 set of lights. I tried using my first set of discs and I think that hurt me. By that, I mean the 'used' discs weren't able to really erase the scratches of the 400 grit, but when I used a new 800 it worked better to remove the 400 grit scratches. In other words, saving discs isn't worth it! I'm just gonna toss them after one set of lights. Let me know if my conclusions are off. But, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. PS - try to ignore the horrible, and pealing, paint protective film on the bumper. It's how the car came...
