Awakening Assessment
Just started the ADHD Awakening Assessment and already realized something wild: the moment in 9th grade math when my teacher made me feel stupid for asking a question wasn't just a bad memory. It became the rule I've been living by ever since - figure it out alone, or fail alone. No wonder every "system" eventually breaks me.

Teachers or Management or Leaders don't realize the impact they have on someone when something like this occurs.
Now I know!
Just got my ADHD Snapshot and one line cracked something open: my self-sabotage isn't sabotage at all - it's protection. After building a $5M empire that collapsed, after burning out twice in senior accounting, my nervous system learned that "getting ahead" is the prelude to losing everything. The avoidance makes sense now. And naming that is the first step to building something different. Excited for Day 1.

Looking at my ADHD snapshot was like looking through a pair of glasses with one red lense and one blue lense and seeing the magic writing appear.
Timeblindness - Blind as a Bat - Any ideas???
I think time blindness might be one of the hardest parts of ADHD for me… I can genuinely think I’ve got time… and then suddenly I’m late, rushing, or completely off track. It's not that I don’t care — it’s like my brain just doesn’t register time properly in the moment. I’m starting to realise how much this impacts:– Work– Commitments– Even how I feel about myself Curious if this shows up for others too? I seem to really struggle with estimating how much time a job takes me, its not so much a problem with my own personal things (as long as no one is reliying on me) - but for work, - it is becoming a problem, as I am constatnly feeling behind, and slow... and worreid my boss might thing - "she is past it" - I thought AI might help me, and I feel like it has, but I am still feeling the pressure of being slow 👉 Does anyone else struggle with time blindness? 👉 And more importantly… what’s actually helped you manage it (even a little)?

I have the same problem. I use "emails" as an excuse because I get between 500 and 700 per day. I started deleting emails that I know are not critical and then tag the ones that I need to respond to. The deletion is normally done in 2 sittings and then I do my responding. I get lost when reading or watching television because that escape is no harm no foul.
A bit about me
Hi, my name is Matt, I’m from Minnesota, and I work as an IT sys admin. I have experience with all sorts of technology. You can ask me questions about: - Computers, technology in general, and my two cats I want to get these things from ADHD Harmony: - I was diagnosed with ADHD last year at age 42. I’m still trying to connect all the dots. I’m learning every day, and I hope I can gain some real, impactful knowledge here. I would love to learn anything that could be useful in my everyday life. For fun, I like to: - Lift heavy weights in a semi-organized fashion. I like taking walks around my neighborhood or driving somewhere to go hiking. - The attached pic is my youngest cat, Figaro, when he was about 4 months old. 😻 He's now just turned one year old, and he's still adorable as can be.

Hi Matt, welcome! I was also diagnosed with ADHD within the last 6 weeks. Any tips on techniques that worked for you?
Beeing acountable to myself as I am to others
Just started the ADHD Awakening Assessment and already had a moment. I realized I never miss a dinner with a friend, a doctor's appointment, or a meeting, but I'll skip the things I plan just for myself. Turns out my brain runs on accountability to other people, and somewhere along the way I stopped counting as one of those people.

I put friends and family first. I have just figured that they are more important and it is easier for me to support them than myself. I couldn't forgive myself for breaking trust with them, but I don't hesitate in breaking it for myself.
