This is the Lens for the week
This week, I want you using this frame: If effort keeps going up but results aren’t following, don’t assume you’re the problem. Assume the system is misaligned. How can you refine? How can you simplify? How can you make it more consistent, with less effort? We’ll talk about where effort is compensating for design, and how to fix it. Drop a comment below
Why more effort isn’t the answer
I want to say something clearly — especially since you’re already inside this space. We help people build health systems. And I’m still building mine. That’s not a disclaimer. That’s the point. I’ve been in fitness for over 20 years. I competed for nearly a decade. I was strong. I “looked the part.” And even then, I struggled with food, recovery, and sustainability. What I want you to hear is this: The issue was never discipline. It was that my health approach didn’t scale with my real life. And that’s the same pattern I see over and over with high-capacity people. Most of you here: - Know what to do - Are capable of doing hard things - Can push through signals when needed That ability is a strength — until it becomes the thing that breaks the system. What we are doing inside Legacy Performance is not chasing perfection. We are not optimizing at all costs. We are not trying to “win” fat loss as fast as possible. We are building systems that hold under pressure. That means: - Designing nutrition that works when stress is high - Training in a way that supports recovery, not competes with it - Learning how to adjust without self-attack - Knowing what phase you’re in — and why If you’ve ever thought: “I know what to do… I just can’t keep it up.” That’s not a character flaw. That’s a design problem. And design problems are solvable. So as you move through the content, the calls, the check-ins — keep this frame in mind: 👉 The goal is not control. 👉 The goal is stewardship. 👉 The goal is autonomy. We’re not here to build something impressive for 12 weeks. We’re here to build something you can carry for years — alongside work, family, leadership, faith, and real life. 👇 Reflection question: Where has effort been compensating for a system that doesn’t actually fit your life right now? If you want, drop a thought below — or just sit with it. Both count.

@Lori Himmel absolutely. Sometimes that’s too simple of an answer. As you’ve learned, your body likes less effort.
Quick Reminder
Quick reminder as you review your own progress this week: Results don’t come from effort alone. They come from what your system can recover from. If something feels off, don’t add more. Ask what needs to be supported or removed.

What is Deep Health?
Most people chase surface-level change. Weight loss, more muscle, better habits; deep health is about something bigger. It’s the full picture of who you are, physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. It’s what happens when your nutrition, movement, mindset, and purpose are all aligned. When you operate from deep health, you don’t just look better. You live better. You think clearer. You show up with energy. You lead with purpose. That’s what Legacy Performance is built around, not just helping you “get fit,” but helping you build a foundation of health that impacts every area of your life. Question: If you had to pick one area of your health that you feel most out of alignment right now — physical, mental, emotional, relational, environmental, or spiritual — which would it be, and what’s one small step you could take this week to move it forward?

@Jessica Eastman I imagine the mental is the stimulus to other setbacks in other dimensions, just like for me, right?

@Jessica Eastman also, I think you’ll really like the 4D Framework exercises that we will be doing in The Inner Circle. I’ll send the link to you.
