Batch-created a full month of Instagram captions using ChatGPT.
Okay this one genuinely surprised me I fed it my client's brand voice doc, told it the content pillars they post around, and asked for 30 captions across different themes. barely had to edit anything. maybe tweaked 4 or 5 of them slightly. what used to take me half a day spread across the whole month is now done in one focused hour. the brand voice doc is the real key though without that the output is generic. if your client doesn't have one yet honestly just build them a simple one first, it makes every AI task 10x better after that

Exactly this. Most VAs underestimate how much structure improves AI output.
Quick tip for anyone struggling with unclear client instructions:
If a task feels vague, donโ€™t just ask โ€œwhat do you mean?โ€ Instead, send a proposed approach. Example:โ€œJust to confirm, Iโ€™ll organize the inbox into 3 folders (urgent, follow-ups, low priority) and create templates for replies. Does that work?โ€ Clients LOVE when you reduce their thinking load. This one habit alone helped me retain clients longer.
Okay I need honest advice ๐Ÿ˜…
How did you guys land your first client? Iโ€™ve been learning Canva + basic admin stuff for like 3 weeks now, but I feel stuck at the โ€œnow whatโ€ stage. I tried Upwork but no replies yet. Should I keep applying there or try something else? Feeling a bit lost tbh.

Donโ€™t wait to feel โ€œreadyโ€ โ€” you wonโ€™t. Pick 1โ€“2 services, create 2โ€“3 sample pieces, and start outreach daily. Volume + consistency beats over-preparing at this stage.
Just used Claude to turn a messy brain dump into a clean client SOP in 2 minutes.
I've been sitting on a rough set of notes for a client onboarding process for weeks bullet points, random thoughts, half-finished sentences, all over the place. pasted the whole mess into Claude, told it to turn it into a step-by-step SOP with clear headings and action items, and it came back with something I could actually send to a client. took maybe 2 minutes. spent another 20 reviewing and tweaking and it was done. if you're someone who has all the knowledge in your head but struggles to get it out in a structured format this is the workflow. brain dump first, let Claude structure it, you refine. works every time

This is exactly how I handle SOPs now. The key is your refinement step thatโ€™s where most people skip and lose quality
Small win today ๐Ÿ™Œ
Finally had a client extend my contract instead of ending after the first month. Itโ€™s not a huge retainer, but honestly feels like proof Iโ€™m doing something right. Curious thoughโ€”what do you guys usually do to increase rates with existing clients without making it awkward?

Thatโ€™s a good sign already ๐Ÿ™Œ I usually donโ€™t โ€œaskโ€ directlyโ€” I frame it around expanded scope or improved results, then align the new rate with that. Makes it feel natural instead of a negotiation.
