10 contributions to AI-Powered Virtual Assistants
Small win but also kinda interesting…
I switched from doing everything manually to using templates + AI for client onboarding (emails, questionnaires, etc.) and it literally cut my time in half. BUT… I noticed if I rely too much on AI, the tone gets a bit generic. Curious how are you guys balancing speed vs personalization? That’s where I’m still tweaking things.

I hit this exact wall a few months ago the fix for me was stopping trying to make the AI sound personal and instead using it for structure only. like the template gives me the skeleton, I write the first and last paragraph myself, and everything in the middle gets AI-assisted. clients notice the opening and closing way more than the middle anyway. cuts maybe 10 minutes off the total time but the tone feels completely mine. small tweak but it fixed the generic problem almost immediately

welcome! always good to have someone with an automation background around 🙌
Curious… how are you guys pricing AI-related tasks now?
Like if a task takes me 30 mins with AI but used to take 2 hours manually… do you still charge hourly? I feel like I’m undercharging but also don’t wanna scare clients off with higher rates.

Been thinking about this a lot lately what I landed on is just stop mentioning hours at all. I quote per project or per deliverable now and the conversation completely changes. client doesn't know if it took me 30 mins or 3 hours and honestly that's not their business. the value is in the output not the time. took me a while to make that mental shift but since I stopped hourly quoting I haven't had a single client question my rate
Batch-created a full month of Instagram captions using ChatGPT.
Okay this one genuinely surprised me I fed it my client's brand voice doc, told it the content pillars they post around, and asked for 30 captions across different themes. barely had to edit anything. maybe tweaked 4 or 5 of them slightly. what used to take me half a day spread across the whole month is now done in one focused hour. the brand voice doc is the real key though without that the output is generic. if your client doesn't have one yet honestly just build them a simple one first, it makes every AI task 10x better after that
Small win today 🙌
Finally convinced a client to let me use AI for email drafts instead of writing everything manually. I showed them how much time it saves and they were actually impressed. Cut my writing time almost in half. Now I’m wondering… how do you guys price this?Like if AI makes me faster, should I charge less hours or switch to value-based pricing?

Congrats on getting the client on board that's honestly half the battle 🙌 on the pricing question I'd say don't charge less hours, ever. you got faster because you levelled up your skills and toolset, that's not a reason to take a pay cut. if anything I've started framing it as "you're getting better quality output in less time" which is a win for the client too. value-based is the direction I'm moving toward but even on hourly I just don't disclose how long things actually take anymore
