Small win but also kinda interesting…
I switched from doing everything manually to using templates + AI for client onboarding (emails, questionnaires, etc.) and it literally cut my time in half. BUT… I noticed if I rely too much on AI, the tone gets a bit generic. Curious how are you guys balancing speed vs personalization? That’s where I’m still tweaking things.
This might be a dumb question but… how do you actually find long-term clients?
I’ve been applying on job boards but most gigs are short or super low pay. Do people mostly use LinkedIn or referrals? I feel like I’m missing something basic here.

Job boards can be rough honestly. I got my first longer-term client through LinkedIn by just posting consistently + engaging with founders. Took a few weeks but it started working.
Okay I need honest advice 😅
How did you guys land your first client? I’ve been learning Canva + basic admin stuff for like 3 weeks now, but I feel stuck at the “now what” stage. I tried Upwork but no replies yet. Should I keep applying there or try something else? Feeling a bit lost tbh.

I was in the same spot honestly. Upwork was slow for me too at first. What helped was reaching out to small business pages on Instagram directly… got my first reply that way.
I feel a bit stuck tbh 😅
I started learning VA skills like 3 weeks ago and I’m trying to practice using ChatGPT for content writing… but whenever I actually sit to write something for a “fake client,” my mind just goes blank. Do you guys practice with real projects somehow? Or just random prompts? I don’t know if I’m doing this right.

Totally normal in the beginning 😅 I’d suggest turning real job descriptions into practice tasks, makes it feel more “real”
Small win today 🙌
I finally stopped saying yes to everything a client asks for. One of my clients kept adding “quick tasks” that were turning into hours of extra work. This time I actually said: “Happy to help, I’ll add this to next month’s scope or we can adjust the package.” They agreed instantly… which made me realize I’ve probably been undercharging this whole time lol. Anyone else had this moment where you realize the problem was… you?

Yeah this hit hard 😅 I had the same moment when I tracked my time and realized those “quick tasks” were like 5–6 extra hours a week. Boundaries really fix more than we think.
