WHAT THE HECK IS A NON-RECOURSE!??!
This is a word that you should know if you are real estate investing, especially with retirement funds! If you have an investment property that is owned by your Roth or your 401k, you can use a non recourse loan to buy your next property without jeopardizing your tax advantages. The reason is that the loan is not using any personal guarantee at all, they just look at the value of the collateral and the quality of the deal you are investing in. By doing this, there is no mingling of your personal finances and the retirement account which follows the IRS guidelines and does not create a taxable event. This is not financial advice

I love it when you can keep everything clear and separate... thats not as easy to do here in the Land of Aus... You could possibly use your SMSF (Self Managed Super Fund) here, but they take a bit of effort to establish effectively and ongoing yearly management. For Aussie's - I'd recommend you use a good advisor to set one up properly
YOUR NET WORTH IS NOT YOUR SELF WORTH
I believe in the capitalist economic system, but it’s not perfect. One of the problems with it is that it tells us that having more money and assets is a reflection of our value to society. That when we make a contribution then we are rewarded with money through the natural balance of the free market. Sometimes this does happen but not always, this is NOT a meritocracy. This philosophy assumes a level playing field which works out great for those whom it favors. Most people feel embarrassed to talk about it when they have bad credit or get into a hole. There are more people in the same boat than you think but they don’t want anyone to know. It’s not exactly block party small talk but if you are willing to talk about it with your friends, you never who will benefit.

WHAT IS YOUR MONEY STORY?
DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A STORY THAT YOU TELL YOURSELF ABOUT MONEY? THAT THIS STORY IS LEARNED AND IT FORMS THE BASIS FOR YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO MONEY? One of my favorite things to do is to help you learn your money story, learn how it is limiting your relationship to money and then change how money shows up in your life by changing that story. The reason I know this works is because this is the process that I have been through over the past 5 years. This is how it worked for me. My parents told me "Other people are rich with money but we have richness of the soul". There is a valuable lesson in this parable. Happiness is not found in material things, appreciation of the simple things, the value of family. But there is also a hidden meaning which took the first half of my life to see. Others are rich (not us), it's not possible to be rich and to be fulfilled, riches can only come through immoral actions. If I believe this then my unconcious mind will not allow me to become rich. In order to have a lot of money, I have to believe that it is ok for me to do so. This shows up in many sneaky ways; feeling awkward to ask for money that is owed to me, thinking of reasons why it makes sense to not get paid for my work, trusting dishonest people. Wealth CAN be the result of moral actions, wealth CAN lead to fulfillment and this is something that CAN happen to me. This is my new story, now I CAN say "YES" to money.

For a long time, money wasn’t something I mastered - it was something I learned through experience, mistakes, (what feels like too many if im being real) and eventually having responsibility with money. I grew up understanding how much money stress can shape decisions, (my mum was stuck in a place with an abusive man, because he earned all the money and she needed to survive), it impacts your confidence, and even relationships. Later, working in finance and real estate, I saw the other side of the equation: people earning good money, doing “all the right things,” and still feeling anxious, behind, or out of control. That disconnect always stuck with me. What I realised over time is that money problems are rarely about intelligence or effort. They’re about not having a system that works with real life - with emotions, fatigue, nervous systems, and seasons of change. Like have you ever bought something just to feel good, knowing that you didn't really need it, then later regretted having bought it...? I’ve made money mistakes, had to rebuild (twice now unfortunately), refined my understanding, and eventually created money calm. That is sustainable systems that allowed me to feel confident, not just “successful on paper.” That’s why I do what I do now. Not to teach hustle or restriction - but to help people feel safe, clear, and capable with money so bigger goals (like buying your first home) stops feeling overwhelming and starts to feel not just possible, but probable. 🐸
